i would suggest ona but how big is your setup? you could just put the filter in the grow area and mount the fan outside connected to the filter inside if you have the space. my elf filter is pretty compact.

no i mean a 4'' carbon filter like this one

just place the filter in the grow area and have the 4" tubing go out to the fan and let it just suck out the odor. i tried making sheets for pc fans, making carbon filters from materials in a can filter configuration and nothing really worked. pc fans aren't meant to be under load really. they loose cfm QUICK unless you get extremely good ones but they are both expensive and loud.
this is also the fan i use personally and its quiet.

I agree with T-Shirt, i have played around with those carbon filter sheets. unfortunately they don't last very long and even at their best don't
fully eliminate odors.

I know its a lot of $ up front when money is tight but an inline fan and Can type carbon filter will not disappoint.
Maybe you could duct out of the box, into the fan, then into the carbon filter.

on my last grow,i had the carbon filter inside the tent,
on the intake side of the fan.
after everything was dry and the tent was moved outdoors
to the shed..i put the filter outside the tent..on the exhaust
side of the fan.
pull through the filter first grow....push through the filter next grow
plus i rinsed it out with a hose in a big trash can untill the rinse water
ran clear..then i hooked the filter and fan together and ran wide open
untill the filter dried out.
hopefully extending the useful life of the filter.

As much as Id love a proper carbon filter guys, i dont have the room or bucks! I did some thinking, and came up with this RedBull Carbon Filter Thought i would post it in the DIY thread, just to help someone else with the same problem in future :D And i will try the ONA Mist after seeing a few of you guys giving ONA a good name! Thanks for the the input guys! :peace:

I have a friend even older than I amwho is a legend in our little breeders group. He does everything his own way. What he does for smell is to mount a fan on a six foot length of stainless steel stove pipe. He half fills the pipe with chopped up balsa tree branches. He groes some stinky stuff but all I acan ever smell is that evergreen smell. Bloody brilliant I say. Martha Stewart would approve this shit at Christmas time.
