New around here (hello everybody) on my second grow and would like a second or third opinion on whether to trim or not.
I have kept her tight all during wedge and she's taking very well to trimming in general.
I am battling high humidity and temperatures and I want to loose the large fan leaves to allow more light to reach the new leaves of the flowers and allow better ventilation.
Just entered week three, since switching to 12/12 and she has put on about 6" already, so I guess the time is now.
What do you think, to trim or no?
(edit: it's a photo not an auto)

yeh id say your bang on with removing a few of those big fans from the center of the plant i tend to give my plants a defoil at week 2 and again in week 4 if needed

Defoliate away! You know you'll get some pros and cons.Anyway ,that's the answers i got when i asked the same question last year.
So,i decided to try it for myself and see.I had a really big bushy White Shark that needed to breath and let light to the bottom sites. After 3 weeks of flowering,i removed about 75% of fan leaves.3 days later you couldn't tell. That plant gave me more then 1\2 lbs.
Your plant looks like it got more then enough fan leaves.
I would remove half of it.

Edit:Nice work of LST on that girl!

Yes? Great, I went ahead and trimmed her. She'll surely grow it all back in a few days anyway, so week 4 I will probably have to go over her again like you say. Thanks!

Yes thank you, that's what I ended up doing. And yes after a few days you can hardly tell the difference anyway.
Thank you for the nice compliment. I topped her twice and got a little carried away with the lst, probably would have been better with half the bud sites. I don't have a lot of growspace, but this where I ended up. If I get out more than half a pound I'll be ecstatic!

yes and I hope it didn’t influence my overall yield to much.
The lights are diy. I don’t know if I can control the smell in my current grow space, so I didn’t want to spend too much money. But they work very well, they take up less than an Inch in height and the open structure makes it easy to vent away heat.
What lights are those?
Now they can breath!
