Indoor Sexing autos

Howdy, all. Im about 4 weeks into my first auto grow.JEMS, DD, and the newly named MDs (which seem to be taking a long time to germinate- been 4 days w/ no action-, but thats another thread). The Duur-ts and JEMS are the ones at the 4 week mark. My question: Is sex determined the same way as photos? Im guessing the pre-flowers/pistols and/or pollen sacs n balls will show up on their own? No need (or way, even)to force flower w/ a 12/12 cycle. I hate asking noob questions that mark my auto-ignorance, but Id hate to have a bunch of seedy females!
And, while yer at it, is it normal for MDs to take longer to germinate? The DD and JEMs popped in 18-36 hrs. Been over 4 days w/ the MG w/o even a split shell...

I appreciate any help y'all can offer. Its great to have such a big knowledge base, w/ even the head geneticist (dragon master?) in house!

Hey Bateteyes. I myself am a noob as well. But yes sex is determined the same way as photos. Pistals for females and pollen sacs for males. Autos will flower regardless of light schedule I don't think 12/12 will help. Be patient sometimes some strains take a bit longer to germinate than others.

TY much, realcarlos. This is my first AF grow, but surely wont be my last. Damn, dont those gals grow once they start. I love seeing change every time I hit the GR! My girls are growing faster than an Allen's coffee brandy and milk (a.k.a. 'fat ass in a glass') hussy!
Im sure the MDs are OK. Maybe just a touch developmentally challenged. The rates for the other 2 strains were awesome! DD was 10/10 and JEM 8/10. Hopefully, my girl to guy ratio will be as good. I wonder if that additive that makes all plants females really works. Some type of silver, I think. Or is that to produce feminized seeds?
Anyhew, Thanks for the info. Im gonna go take a peek and see what I can see!

Autos will sex on their own, hence the name "auto". Males will show first, usually starting around day 16 - 21, females a few days later. Generally speaking, the larger ones will turn out to be males. The initial buds are still considered pre flowers. Full flowering won't start until week 5 or 6.

It's silver colloidal it's to produce female seeds. Apparently if you put regular seeds in a rotten banana peel it will boost the % of females

Really? Id like to hear more about that! Do you mean germinate them in the peel? Or store them w/ the peel? Interesting!

Store them in the banana peel. This is what I heard never tried it myself. But theres really no way to prove it

I belive you are suppose to put a banana on/near the germinating plants. They give off some gas that triggers more female flowers. When the banana starts to go brown get a new banana.

Been lookin around the net- seems like both methods have been tried. Some swear it works, some say its hogwash. Its the Ethelene gas that does it. I guess its been used in cucumber seed production for years. LOL, be funny if the big seed stores double their money with a half rotten banana! The silver solution seems easy and cheap, too, but looks like the hermie ratio raises along w/ the female ratio.
