Hi Guys,

after 3 successful grow of autos (Mobyy dick XXL, 60 day wonder and blue berry) with 250W light, since september this year I've plated 4 seeds, and of these only 1 of them made it.

well im not too sure if I can say made i because all other seeds who didnt pop in 8-10 days, ı dug up the soil to see if there was some growth, in case I planted it too deep, but since September only 1 of my seeds popped out.

im using the same method I did last year, fully wet the soil (20lt airpot) and let it sit for a day. then dig a small hole no deeper than 1cm, pop in the seed, cover it with some soil, put on the plastic wraping film on top of the pot, put the light about 50cm from the pot. on a 18-6 hour schedule. (humidity is around 40-50% in the tent, but these are the same figures that I used last year in my successful grows.also its about 22-24 degrees Celsius in he tent)

the position im in is extremely annoying, this method worked many times, I doubt the seeds are all faulty since they are from dinfem and DNA both respected seed producers. if the seeds poped and then we saw some problems I would maybe assume its a problem with the seeds, but since they dont even pop in 10 days, and the seeds is still intact in the soil, makes me really question what I am doing wrong.

does anybody here have any kind of advice for me? I dont want to use the wet paper method in order to germinate the seeds, since I'm using autos, but I'm really getting to the point that maybe this is the only alternative I have.
any kind of advice would be highly appreciated, this forum gave me the knowledge to make my first grow, I hope someone can hep me out here also

thanks in advance to all

Peace

bad seeds or improper storage. No problem with your sowing, sounds very good as long as soil is extremely moist. Never used plastic, I guess ok. Put one in a paper towel and see what it does, if it sprouts in the paper towel then it would have done so also in the soil. I doubt you'll ever know, some seeds are just not viable. How are you storing your seeds?

hey, thanks for the feedback, I keep my seeds on the original bags that they come in, in a small money container, which is in another little bigger container and in a closet keep in my garage. I really doubt it should be a storage issue, sine one fo the seeds that waited 1 year did grow out of the soil. I'm planing on leaving the seeds in some warm water for 24 hours and once ı see that the seeds are breaking, then ı want to put it into the soil. this paranoia that I have of did it pop or not, really drives me krazy, especially since im stating to run low on my previous grows :)

I went through this myself. Something that's been very helpful is I add the seeds to rapid root plugs. This holds the seed so you don't have to dig and also keeps it near the top. I had some dinafem that sunk very deep when I splashed them with water. The plugs also hold moisture well too.

Since I started using these 6 months ago I haven't had a single issue.

They hold the seed 1/2 inch from the surface. Just be careful watering them with seeds inside. I also take clear plastic cups and place them over the top till they get as tall as the bottom picture. No plastic

Rapid rooters make life easier, soak them, squeeze them, and just stick in a sealed plastic tub in a warm place, heated propagator if there's one available. I usually check after three days and 95% of the time they've sprouted. But sounds like you've got everything right, perhaps try getting humidity higher that's all I could Imahine it could be.
Best of luck.

Instead of the plastic wrap. Put a small juice glass over the spot the bean is located.

Also Deli Cups. The cups you get when you go to the local Delicatessen to get that awful Potato Salad or Macaroni Salad. The one pint cups make perfect humidity domes. Just ask for an extra pint cup or save the ones you get. Clean them real good.

The plastic wrap maybe causing too much added condensation and just too much moisture and lack of oxygen.

Try not using plastic wrap as a humidity dome. Or poke some holes in the plastic to give off less condensation. Seedlings do not need light to pop; so lights or lighting needs to be lower in wattage. Warmth, moisture are the keys. Too much of both will limit your bean pop ratio.

Always remove the "humidity dome" as soon as the beans pop.

hey thanks for the help. hmmmm, ok I'm gonna order me some now :) , I found this brand called root riot clone kit, is this the same product that you are talking about?

and do I put the seed directly into this, and then once the seed has sprouted out, I jut put it in my original pot?

heybaylee thanks for the input Ok next time i plant it in the soil, I will try the plastic dome method. hmmm now that ou mentioned it, maybe im placing the light too close for the seeds to sprout. I have them at about 30-50cm from the top of the soil
