I try to put my auto outside with some shade so they can get the best out of.mother nature.
But if it rain or the sky too cloudy I want a option b.

Can you tell me if that would do the trick ??

Thx

I use a simple 4 bulb 96w T5HO fixture...run it 24/0 on all plants for 3 weeks then move to a flower area. Been running perpetually for years with everything changed out except for my seedling light.

Nice but it's coat.a bit more than what I hot ATM .
Did you look at the one I linked ? Would like your opinion on ithat

TBH...I've never tried led for seedlings although I'm sure there's a spec for it. My T5 unit was under 100 bucks and I've used it for over 15 years with just bulb change now and then. Works best at about 2 " from plants with mild breeze and temp control.
Seedlings are very sensitive so careful with your distances/spectrum stuff. Good luck.

Is it rated to be used outside? Safety first.

I bought a pair of T5 lights from Home Depot to put seedlings under when they first emerge. When there is snow on the ground still outside. They were less than $25.00 for each two tube light panel.

I have seedlings growing right now though that started life outside from day one under the sun and they are growing better than any seeds I have started inside. Rain or clouds in warm weather doesn't seem to adversely affect my plants that start life outside from day one. All I am growing outside now are autoflowers. I am above the 45th parallel, just across the lake from Ontario, Canada.

Once your plants are established outside and beginning to flower I learned not to take them inside if possible especially if using a grow tent. You end up bringing pests inside and then they spread to any plants you are growing inside.
