Hello all!
First of all - i would like to thank you all for your contribution to this forum as it helped me a tooon when doing my cannabis research on grow and during my first grow.
A few months ago, I decided I would go with my first grow.
It was supposed to be "learning grow", I did not have any expectations.
I bought my seeds from a quality seed bank, set up some environment, and planted them. 1x Royal Kush and 1x Northern lights.
What a road that was. I wasn't paying attention to anything. water was 7.5 ph, the soil was the cheapest universal, and temperatures were dropping to 16-17 celsius by night. I did overwater them, underwater, light stressed them, stunned them, had yellow leaves, damaged leaves, fungus gnats...
But somehow we managed to survive and I had solid 100 grams of decent weed from it.
For my second grow, I decided I would play "by the book" and try to have the best possible plants/harvest. Somehow I have a feeling my progress is even slower/worse than with my first grow.
I would like to make sure I'm on right track with everything and not overseeing some small bit.
Soil and water:
50% coco plus mix
30% Universal soil
20% Perlite
-------
Soil PH - 7
Water PH - 6
13L Pots
Environment:
It's a 15m2 room with 2m2 smaller storage room with no door. Storage is being used for grow.
Air intake is passive. One window is shuttered with blinds half open.
In the room, 2 small vents are being used to circulate air.
For air output, I use Prima-Klima pk100 vent with carbon filter module. Vent is working 15 minutes per hour.
Temperatures: 22-26 celsuis
Humidity: 50-55%
Lights: LED Spiderfarmer sf1000 100w x 2.
4 seeds were put to germination. 2x Northern Lights, 2x Royal Kush.
After 24h in glass of water, they were put in cotton towels and plastic bags. Roots sprouted after 24h. After 2 days, they were planted in bio bags.
Single LED light turned ON, with PPDF on plants averaging around 190-210.
Sprouted from bio bags on day 5.
After 2 days, 2 seeds died because shell wasn't dropping off and. 2 days after, remaining two seedlings died. I just found them lying on the ground (my guess - drop off).
Plantation to the final pot never happened.
So, for my next attempt I will use 3x Royal Gorilla seeds.
Germination started in a glass of water on 01/18.
After 24h, seeds were put in cotton towels and plastic bags.
Roots sprouted after 24h, on 01/20.
Seeds were planted directly in the final 13L pots on 01/21. Each pot was moistured with 1.5L of water.
Sprouted from soil on 01/23.
Gave them 10 ml of water around the plants.
One plant died on 01/26. I just found it lying on the ground (my guess- dropoff).
2 other plants received 100ml of water.
On 01/28, another 100ml of water + root-juice (1ml per 1l)
On 01/30, another 150ml of water + root-juice (1ml per 1l)
it was planned to water them today again but decided to skip as the soil around the plants is still wet one inch above the surface. Although, surface itself is completely dried out, as well as 70% of the soil in general.
Here's the picture of both plants from today, 10 days from sprouting (01/23) (not sure if the day of sprout is counted as first day, nor if today can be counted as day since photos are from this morning...)
I would like to know where they are in comparison with where they should be.
They did have the best progress ever last 24 hours so I hope things will get better.
Also, one question regarding Lights.
Spiderframer guides say I should hang it 50cm from the plant and set it to 50%.
With these settings, I only get around 100 PPFD on plants.
To have at least 200 (which is the minimum for seedlings if I'm correct), I need to set it up to 100%.
I'm not sure if that will somehow impact plants in regards of light spectrum etc.?
Who to trust, manufacturer guide or PPDF?
Also, is it better to have 2 lights working on 60-70% than one working on 100%?
Thank you for your time...and patience
