Hi all

Long time lurker and reader. Over a year ago Seymour inspired me to do my first grow but unfortunately I could only do one grow. It was relatively successful but by no means anything to start bragging about.

Anyway a month into DP Auto Mazar and I think a Super Atomic of some type seed got mixed up but I know what one the Mazar is.

Family Shot...

Far left is Super Auto - mystery tiddler in the middle - Auto Mazar on the right.

Equipment used:

LED: 2 x Progrow 260 - 3 watt chips
Air: 60 liters per minute
Nutes:
Rhizotonic
Canna Aqua Vega and Flores
Liquid Silicon
Carboload
PK 13/14
Calmag
Formulex

So we're about a month or so since I seated them in the buckets. I gave them 50ml Rhizo, and about 60ml Formulex. So they have had two buckets of this so far. It's been about two weeks since the last change due to circumstance and not having instant access to them but more on that later.

Auto Mazar

So the buckets were pretty scummy when I change them today and I am hoping that will explain whats happening on some of the leafs... here's the pics

So today instead of Formulex + Rhizo, I put in:

13.5ml of Canna Vega A
13.5ml of Canna Vega B
50ml Rhizotonic
4ml Growth Technology Liquid Silicon
2ml Calmag
5ml Advanced Nutrients Carboload

Ph 5.8 EC 0.7
(EC read 0.8 but it comes out of the tap at 0.1 so.... don't know if that counts)

Deficiency

So unlike last time I grew (with no major problems) this time I don't have access to them everyday. Basically it's not in my house. Here are some photos of what is happening to the poor neglected Auto Mazars.

Can anyone diagnose this? Im putting it down to a few factors. Firstly the buckets were left far too long,
Ph went down from 5.9 - 5.5 and EC remained at 0.8 over the two weeks.

Secondly, As she grew she has been left on baby food for two weeks.... and thirdly, salt buildup or other scum that started to build up.

Super Automatic

Might not actually be this strain. Someone mixed them up as seedlings so it could be one of three other strains chucked in. This is a bit of a test grow to see is the arrangement works and apart from the Auto Mazar left over from my first grow the other three were just to test the water so to speak....

Kind of long and lanky this one. It had the same as the AutoMazar. Couple of 50ml Rhizo and 60ml Formulex up until now. And looks healthy despite it's stretchy appearance. No marks on the leafs for this one.

I fed her...
50ml Rhizo
and took her up to EC 1.2 with Formulex and kicked in 4-5ml of Silicon for good measure.
(to be on the safe side)

Questions

Ok I fully accept I am not a good farmer I have everything to learn and have read a lot of journals but practical knowledge is lacking. If anyone has read through this can they give me any advice? I am fully expecting good farmers to be thinking what the hell is going on with this grow!

Anyway specifically....

Auto Mazar feed detailed above.... does that seem about right?
Im just trying to adapt Seymours grows and do kind of what he done.

Is the deficiency going to get worse or can the plant recover?

Does the Auto Mazar look like a girl?

With the nutes I listed above.... what sort of buckets would you be making up? They are 20 litre buckets and only have about 16 litres of water in them.

Any other advice?

Notes

Temperatures are a lot hotter than my first setup. Minimum is fine but they have reached 90 at one point in the grow.... high 70's would be about average with the lights on.

And just for giggles.... here's the tiddler her stem snapped and id just pull her out and not waste air/nutes/space which will probably happen next week, only reason she is still there is im worried about killing the other two... she will be like a little tes project, perhaps, if it's worth it and the others die.....

Ach... pictures are too small and don't load up bigger when clicked on them.... ill try to sort that.

Welcome buddy  ) i started reading but I'm so stoned the words started to dance on the page.... So for now I'm really glad your up and running and best of luck with everything past the 2nd or 3rd paragraph :Sharing One:
Peace brother

Any advice anyone? (bump :-) )

No change in the plants overnight

sup Kitty ,they look ok & your new res sounds almost perfect !... apart from a bit much rhizo & not enough EC maybe .They can recover no problem ... keep checking EC every few hours ...if it goes up = overfeeding ... down = underfeeding . That should help you get the EC in the right spot . I'll guess your EC will drop a bit ...If so ,add half a liter of water with 10ml of aqua vega a+b added to raise it a bit a monitor .OR change the res ...always cal mag 1st ...then hot stuff like silica 2nd ,then your other supps like rhizo & carboload .... finally the aqua base added up to your desired EC ,if you add calmag to other nutes neat it can seperate & react bad .

If they where my girls id go into 15 liters

calmag - 7ml
silica - 4ml
rhizo - 15ml
carbo - 5ml
aqua vega - upto EC- 1.2 ish maybe ? ....... check your EC for rise or fall to see if you need more or less feed

get the 2nd plant off formulex & onto a similar res as above but maybe a lower EC ? ( again monitor EC )

good luck :Sharing One:

PS ...those high temps & leaving the res change so long wont have helped ... suggest cannazym if that will be a regular thing !:peace:

Many thanks for the info DW!

I have been roughly in the right ball park with my nutes on my previous grow then. Froffy bubbles might suggest the last dash of Cal I schoosed in is reacting. Ill get fresh buckets made and have an update in a week or so.

Also forgot to note that the lights were on red only for about a week (sigh) not my doing. Onwards and upwards!

your very close with the nutes :Sharing One:a few environmental issues sorted & your good ..the key is monitoring the EC & PH

The girls are still alive and growing.

First a family shot.... sorry for the big pictures, wanted them bigger than last time but not this big.... oh well.

Auto Mazar (right)

She got fed

7ml Calmag
4ml Silcia
50ml Rhizo
5ml Carbo
And Canna Vega up to EC 1.0

Always thought it would be a bit lite thanks to DW's advice and ph and EC went as follows

5.7 - 0.9
5.8 - 1.0
5.4 - 1.0
5.7 - 0.9
5.7 - 0.9
5.3 - 0.8
5.0 - 0.8
Fresh water added
5.8 - 0.5

So she was begging for more food but unfortunately I couldn't get to her quick enough. She got fed the following today.

7ml Calmag
4.5ml Silcia
15ml Rhizo
5ml Carboload
and about 32ml of A and B taking her too
5.8 - 1.3

Pics....

Super Automatic (left)

Not looking as good as her sister and not sure what the seeds are because someone mixed them up (sigh). She was fed the following last week.

7ml Calmag
4ml Silicia
15ml Rhizo
5ml Carboload
Vega A&B to 0.8

her ph and EC went as follows

5.7 - 0.9
4.9 - 1.0
4.2 - 1.0
4.7 - 0.9
5.0 - 0.9
5.3 - 0.9
5.4 - 0.8
fresh water...
5.9 - 0.6

so today I fed her....

7ml calmag
10ml rhizo
10ml carboload
Flores A and B upto 1.1

Dropped the silicia and doubled the carboload. Any opinions on her feed? What would you do different. Next week I might introduce some PK 13/14 at 10ml and work it up 10ml a week... anyway here is the pics

What are your opinions on this plant? Looks a bit rubbish to me any prediction on yield from anyone? Personally id not be wasting nutes on it but its not totally my decision.

Mystery Tiddler

This one I think had her stem snapped early or something went really wrong. She is the same age as the other two so way behind. But looks quite healthy. Personally id pull her out again but this grow is purely a systems test and trying to develop some skills. Id pull the weak ones, stick to good seeds like Dutch Passion and concentrate on the winners... I digress.

She has just come off baby food.
Rhizo and Formulex at EC 1.1
ph has stayed at 5.8 and EC 1.1 the whole week.

So she got today the big girl food. 7calmag, 4silcia, 15rhizo, 5carbo, AandB to 1.0

Here's some pics....

So yeah very much a beginner here so any advice is very welcome. Particularly on what to be feeding them when they hit flowering mode? Does AM need to go on bloom nutes? I gave her the veg nutes once again.

Anyway thank you thank you

WEEK 6 - Family Portrait First - Apart from all being on the small side things are coming along nicely. Not much smell last time they were stinking way before this stage.

Plant on the Left - Super Automatic

just few her...
8ml Calmag - 1ml extra as she's getting a bit bigger.
4ml Silcia - gave her this out of routine... in hindsight id have left it out. Thoughts?
20ml Carboload - double from 10ml last time. The bottle suggests 30ml should have went in.... maybe ill up it next week.
9ml PK13/14 - never used it before going to follow Seymour advice and keep adding 10ml each week
32ml A+B Flores - upto EC 1.2
Ph - 6.0

She stayed steady at EC 1.1 and 1.0 with a fairly steady Ph of 5.8-6.0 last week so left her where she was.

Righthand Side - Auto Mazar

working this girl pretty hard... she got fed

10ml Calmag - more because she is getting bigger
6ml Silcia - same as above
15ml Rhizo - just for fun
10ml Carboload - standard practice
40ml of A+B Vega

Ph 5.8 EC 1.6

Thought about changing her to Flores but figured id give her another week on the Vega. Expecting a growth spurt as she is short and fat at the moment and hoping for at least another foot of height... Her big roots made changing buckets a little tough and my little helper snapped a couple of the small lower branches... should be ok right?

Middle - The Tiddler

Poor wee thing is soo far behind. I still want to stop wasting nutes but it's not all my decision. She is really really healthy and if it had been a few weeks ago id have been real excited about this little plant.

Hi Kitty ,looks like your doing great :kusht:Keep doing what your doing but go easy on the carboload ,it can ferment in the res if you add to much ,so keep that at 20ml per res max .The only other thing I would say is dont be afraid to increase the EC a bit every week ... check it & if you can get it to stay the same as she drinks then your in "the zone" :smoke:

Do you have any cannaBoost of other bloom boosters as they look ready for small amounts to be worked up from now :Sharing One:good luck
