Yeah, as long as the plants are drinking well, the autopot system works perfect, but as soon as the roots can't handle the water, nitrification takes place and the soil goes awry...
I'm not saying the autopot system doesn't have it's advantages, but it is still a 'dumb' system that doesn't hold into account the amount of water the plant needs. It just saturates the soil...

Isn't that what the Aquavalve and 'floatsystem' is for? As soon as the plants stop drinking, the water at the bottom of the pots fills up, and makes sure the 'float' mechanism stops from new water pouring in. If that wasn't working the pots (and the bottom of your tent) would be flooded all the time..

However it is known that soil has the capacity to take up water via the bottom part and that makes everything wetter than it should (one of the reasons most people used clay pebbles on the bottom). I think they developed something now called an Airbase for that too.

What we noticed during the years is that either the tank is placed too high in comparison with the pots/drains, so there is too much pressure making the water pour in, or sometimes you see the first plant in the line, getting more water than the others (also sometimes the last one getting a bit less). That's the only downside in my opinion, but for the rest it is mostly checking the drains, floaters etc. and make sure the watertank isn't raised too high or too low.

I think maybe with the soil I should of added more perlite for drainage but all the other girls seem happy enough I added this time 10 ltr to 50 ltr of lightmix and I think next time there will be maybe 70/30 let me know your thoughts Antonio also this is to you and @Bob's Auto's these top fed autos are 35 days old today how soon would I start with the pk 5.8 also if you've used it would you give it the 10ml a litre a week or 1to3 ml every watering .anyhow today's video I give all the ladies the bactrex every 2 weeks at a gram per litre as its says in the schedule

OK folks on my biotabs photo grow I've now had the front girl off the res now for a couple of days and I hand fed her as she was pretty light and still every leaf is still clawing under so now I'm pretty sure she's locked out with adding the silicium flash maybe it was too big an amount to top dress as I had noticed slight tip burn on the other girls still now and it seems this big front lady couldn't handle it as much so any soil growers give me your opinion @hope2grow @Bob's Auto's @pop22 @blue @Antonio_DutchPassion @Mañ'O'Green as she starting losing color within a day of the top dress but lesson learned but now regards to fixing her I'm all ears as if she was in coco in know were I'm at so I was considering maybe just top feeding to run off a few days get the excess nitrogen out or do I go whole hog and totally flush her and if so how would I set her back up with biotabs orgatrex or silicium flash anyhow anyhelp is really appreciated also the sanlights make her look a lot paler than she is

Those plants don't seem to need it yet, but it does take some time for the nutrients to get assimilated. Start slow. ie, 5ml in one go and wait at least a week. Next time, another 5ml until the plants show signs they need more ;)

Disconnect the pots from the res and let the soil dry out a bit and then give plain water with Bactrex to get the soil life back. I'm still convinced the autopot system is the cause of the problems as the soil becomes to wet when the plants don't need that much water when they transgress into flower...

shes not on the res bob and I grew great plants with the autopots with the sohums live soil I just wanna know how to get this girl rights so I can flip her as I think shes showing lockout issues as every leafs been clawing and letting her dry out feeding her I would of seen some improvement also the other girls great to be going on with https://www.autoflower.org/threads/...iesel-and-elephant-in-sohums-live-soil.84779/

Let her dry out a bit then feed with maybe some seaweed bio bizz but don’t get it on your fingers it smells bad :gassy1:I always chuck a bit in helps with stress and a nice last N boost b4 you flip that’s what I would do but im better at coco like you to so my organic knowledge is questionable.

Sorry bro, you've got so many grows going on...Can't keep up which is which sometimes...Was convinced you had this one in an autopot as well...Well, were on a canna forum as well so :haha:
My advice still stands --> pH issue causing lockout. Let her dry out a bit, maybe even place the pot on a seedling mat to hasten the drying process and then water with plain, dechlorinated water with 1gr/L of Bactrex added to it. You can also add 2ml of Orgatrex to that if you didn't give that in the last week or so. The carbs will feed the Mycelium inside the soil along with the bacterial colonies you are adding with the Bactrex.
Don't give to much water to the soil. You know the trick with squeezing a handful of soil in your hand right? It's better to add 2gr of Bactrex (and double up on the Orgatrex as well) to the water if you have the feeling you're not going to have to add much, but still want enough of the Bactrex inside...get my drift? But first let her dry out for a couple of days, this will stop the nitrification going on right now. Then the Bactrex, which will help in getting that soil back into balance.
Good luck bro :d5:
