SANlight sanlight EVO 140 and 60 series perpetual grow with biotabs Dutch passion kerosine krash sssc and seedstockers

Are you planting into final pot or will you be transplanting?

I've had great results by having a biotab at the bottom of the planting hole. Something I picked up from Mephisto.

I may buy a biotabs starter pack for the next grow now that I realise don't need to add the startrex etc when reusing soil so it's much cheaper than I thought.

Some Bio PK was great for fattening up the buds too. If you're looking for a reasonably priced Bio PK I used Plant Magic with really good results. I do think biotabs has produced the tastiest buds I've grown.

Great to know the reused soil is working well. It's supposed to get better after each use.

I never got any bugs with biotabs but I did with another dry amendment. Gnats are little fuckers that get everywhere!

Nice to hear you've had so much experience with the BioTabs nutrient line. I'm still learning, but getting the hang of it.
I did try one in a solocup once, but this was probably to hot for the small seedling to handle, but I can see this working when transplanting larger seedlings over into their final pot. Something I'm going to look at in one of my later grows.

As I told, I have compost worms inside the soil, but I also have loads of other small critters roaming around. It's just to create a balance where the entire ecosystem in the pot get's into equilibrium. I added the following besides the worms... 20mln Steinernema carpocapsae, these little critters feed on all sorts of larvae, including those of the compost worms. As soon as the prey diminish the nematodes go the route of the dinosaurs, but there will always be a colony inside the soil to keep watch and defend from new invasions. The compost worms do three things...Eat, shit and have sex in large slimy piles. So these will also be plentyful inside the soil.
I also add a cup of diatomic earth to the pile of soil shown above, which is about 200-240L. This product adds so many minerals and more important large surface areas for bacterial colonies to settle down.

Thanks. Was it a solo cup grow you were doing with the biotab? I don't think there's enough soil to do the biotab method for a full grow unless you were constantly top feeding.

I've only done 5 or so grows with biotabs and found that it needed more than what the starter pack provides. I'll be adding worm castings, rock dust and Silicium Flash to the initial mix next time. I like your idea of putting worms and nematodes in. I've just had read up on the Diatomic earth and see that it is an effective insecticide. Have you noticed any negative effects on the worms or the nematodes?

I recon I could do a solo cup with an eighth of a tab maybe half that again with a solo but with coco/clay pebbles as I top feed to run off every feed so maybe I will try it at some stage
