ok... cool... was a bit worried i'm off target! lol notice in this little article below... they talk about amonial nitrogen and calcium locking out mg as well... good to know..

In my second look, I'd agree theres a bit of an N defficiency there as well

Magnesium (Mg) - Micronutrient and Mobile Element

Magnesium helps supports healthy veins while keeping a healthy leaf production and its structure. Magnesium is significant for chlorophyll-production and enzyme break downs. Magnesium which must be present in relatively large quantities for the plant to survive, but yet not to much to where it will cause the plant to show a toxicity.

Magnesium is one of the easiest deficiencies to tell… the green veins along with the yellowness of the entire surrounding leave is a dead giveaway, but sometimes that’s not always the case here. In case you have one of those where it doesn’t show the green veins, sometimes leaf tips and edges may discolour and curl upward. The growing tips can turn lime green when the deficiency progresses to the top of the plant. The edges will feel like dry and crispy and usually affects the lower leaves in younger plants, then will affect the middle to upper half when it gets older, but It can also happen on older leaves as well. The deficiency will start at the tip then will take over the entire outer left and right sides of the leaves. The inner part will be yellow and or brownish in colour, followed by leaves falling without withering. The tips can also twist and turn as well as curving upwards as if you curl your tongues.

Excessive levels of magnesium in your plants will exhibit a buildup of toxic salts that will kill the leaves and lock out other nutrients like Calcium (Ca). Mg can get locked out by having too much Calcium, Chlorine or ammonium in your soil/water.
One of the worst problems a person can have is a magnesium def caused by a ph lockout. By giving it more magnesium to cure the problem when you are thinking you are doing good, but actually you are doing more harm then good. When the plants can’t take in a nutrient because of the ph being off for that element, the plant will not absorb it but it will be in the soil… therefore causing a buildup. A buildup will be noticed by the outer parts of the plant becoming whitish and or a yellowish color. The tips and part way in on the inner leaves will die and feel like glass. Parts affected by Magnesium deficiency are: space between the veins (Interveinal) of older leaves; may begin around interior perimeter of leaf.

Problems with Magnesium being locked out by PH troubles

Light Acid Soils, soils with excessive potassium, calcium and or phosphorus

Soil

Magnesium gets locked out of soil growing at ph levels of 2.0-6.4
Magnesium is absorbed best in soil at a ph level of 6.5-9.1 . (Wouldn’t recommend having a ph of over 7.0 in soil) anything out of the ranges listed will contribute to a Magnesium deficiency.

Hydro and Soil less Mediums

Magnesium gets locked out of Hydro and Soil less Mediums at ph levels of 2.0-5.7
Magnesium is absorbed best in Hydro and Soil less Mediums at ph levels of 5.8-9.1
(Wouldn’t recommend having a ph over 6.5 in hydro and soil less mediums.) Best range for hydro and soil less mediums is 5.0 to 6.0. Anything out of the ranges listed will contribute to a Magnesium deficiency.

Solution to fixing a Magnesium deficiency
Any Chemical/Organic nutrients that have Magnesium in them will fix a Magnesium deficiency. (Only mixing at ½ strength when using chemical nutrients or it will cause nutrient burn!)
Other nutrients that have magnesium in them are: Epsom salts, which is fast absorption. Dolomite lime and or garden lime (same thing just called different) which is slow absorption. Sulfate of Potash, Magnesia which is medium absorption. Worm Castings, which is slow absorption. Crabshell which is slow absorption. Earth Juice Mircoblast, which is fast acting. (a must buy!! Has lots of 2ndary nutrients).
Now if you added to much chemical nutrients and or organics,( which is hard to burn your plants when using organics) You need to Flush the soil with plain water. You need to use 2 times as much water as the size of the pot, for example: If you have a 5 gallon pot and need to flush it, you need to use 10 gallons of water to rinse out the soil good enough to get rid of excessive nutrients.

Picture one shows a mid grade magnesium deficiency.

Wiz that lighted scope I have doesn't have any markings on it what so ever... It can zoom in 60-100x. and has another separate focus wheel to get it in real clear. I think I remember seeing it in a high times ad, they called it the "420 light". It deff works good for checkin out trichs but you almost need to rip a bud off the plant and sit down to see. Hard to keep steady enough to see whats goin on free hand. In regards to pics of the patio a few pages back..People talk about Sea Of Greeen, It seems you are onto something new... Sea Of Purple haha

 Yeah, HA!! So good you recovered,Wiz! :dance2:
"Canna Butter..Satans Spread.........."
Did quite the same myself in Adam one time... oooh.

yeah... first time i tried brownies with my brother when i was 14 or 15... whew! i remember we went outside for a winter recon mission... thats about it... lol and we laughed a lot!
and when i came home 10 hours later... i slipped past my parents with, "I'm home... tired... goin to bed" cuz I knew damn well I was still pretty stoned! lol

A little late but at least its some eye candy.
Interesting things going on here with these non-glandular tric's

F1 White/purple mom nice and raised trics and thick stalks.
68.jpg

Now that i have been looking through the scope a good bit i have seen three different tric changes.
A Clear to heavy white
A clear to milky to amber/golden
A clear to Golden.

It seems that where there are more of a concentration of the
clear to milky to amber/golden, or clear to Golden that the effect is stronger.
I also notice that all of the heavy Milky (white) ones like to stay stalky and low to the bud/leaf
I am thinking that this is the CBD/CBN part of the plant. So seeing those is a little deceiving.
I think that this is the reason that we see a lot of them but dont get as strong effect as the Photo girls

Now when my BB is done i will be able to tell a good deal of difference as she had more
of the clear shifts than the low milky (white) ones that i saw on ICU#2. This would explain the heavy med effect i had from ICU, raised numbers of low rised milky white tric's.
The F1 mother that i have has some impressive raised trics with nice sturdy bases. This reminds me of the BudWider i had.
The plant followed the same formations on the tric side and had a nice kick and a bit of paranoia. This is what i am after :twist:
I think that through selective breeding through trics at the scope level will allow me to breed out the CBD/CBN ones and lean more towards the raised THC ones.

Well see how it goes once the White female is done. IF this is the case i have won half the battle. I already have the white as a mum so i have rolled it into the progeny.

Very nice fd... I knew having a microscope would help research... never thought about this before... I'll be very much looking forward to the rest of your results...

:)

that top pic is VERY interesting... strange...

Morning M8's..........:smoke:

One of the best mornings of the new year...
Only 6 o'C..
but one of those days when you can smell Spring in the air..mmm..mmm..mmm..
It will probably snow..ha ha ha...
mother nature is such a tease...:D

One of my m8's turned up in his shorts today..
but then..he is like that...
all the fair weather walkers were out so the cafe was raucus...
with the smell of rich fresh coffee rising in the warm air....

Damn..I feel Good...:jump:
probably the butter hang-over.

FullD..gotta say cause I just seen them...mmm..mmm..mmm..

that second photo is one of the Best tric photos I have seen..
and I have followed tric photos since I started growing..
Joe the Tricman photos started my love affair with them.

Curiosity and Greed...if that is the little buggers that do the Biz...
I NEED to understand them..
I am a compulsive Tric Letch...
The definintion on that photo makes me toes curl...no depth of field blur makes me wonder if you are preparing proper slides now..and if that is a sliver.

You are gonna have to explain..and what mag you used..
I Need photos as Good as That Bro...

Back to your homework shortly..just need to catch up with me thread.

Bailer..got your reply in your Home thread...
while I was singing Lady in Red to myself....ha ha..
she is a Beaut...
nothing like a R-r-racey Red to get the pulses racing.
Ladies that Blush do it for Me..

HHH..cheers Bro...
Wiz that lighted scope I have doesn't have any markings on it what so ever... It can zoom in 60-100x
Most of the little hand-held lighted scopes only go to 30x mag.
I take most of the tric photos @ 40x mag..
so that one you have is a little treaure.

TBM...damn..now you warn me.....:D
Burning the butter probably convert some of the THCA too, increasing potency.
Funny thoughts rolling around in my head while I was stoned...and the body dump reaction afterwards.
Us three are gonna have to get some brain-storming done.
I have the funny feeling we are on to something.

Also..when stoned..but..
Munchies..why..?
Gotta theory on that one too.
I might not have appreciated the Effect of the butter OD..hate vertigo..
but..
it has certainly provoked some Interesting Thoughts or connections.

Also some people are get affected more than others. I have my theories on why, but that's on the back-burner for now.

Me too Bro..be interested in your point of view...once we are bain bouncing.

then you just want to sleep for a while
Oh I Tried..my normal reaction to vertigo is to try to sleep it off before the nausea gets too bad.
But..
it was a rollercoaster ride...I could well understand the Riding the Dragon thing.

@wiz
"beware the dragon edibles... you mind from the valley of the city of york will be destroyed... 9 11"
ha ha..it was more like a ohmygodun than armagedon...but you understand..:smoke:

i can feel how much better my lungs and heart feel in the morning... heavy tobacco smoker... gotta quit!
Remember my Circulation theory...I Think in the winter...med patients circulatory system is compromised..that is why a Lot of us Crash in the winter.

One definitive thing I notice is a constrictive chest..exercise that I have done Daily..for Years...leaves me out of breath.

Lung constriction.
I Think the butter OD increased my circulation Big enough to open up the circulation again...
and the phlegm congestion was their way of dumping out the waste that they hadn't had the energy to do before.
Interesting stuff Bro...Interesting.

My mind is alive with possibilities..seems my Lungs weren't the only thing reached by the OD...:smokebuds:
Passing the doobie to You Bro..

Pass the doobie to the left-hand side...

Musical (mis-spent) Youth..:D

The CBD's i'd guess. Our own bodies use CBD receptors to make us hungry. There is also CBD's in mother breast milk. :D

Was reading some stuff that also said people who have blocked CB receptors are less able to handle change. They were talking about a treatment for things like Agoraphobia and things like that where you really resist change.

Morning Wiz.. I finally got a well needed day off today. It looks like it is going to be a day of heavy self medication :smokeit: Got me a fat jar staring me in the face and I have a friend coming over with some edibles for the big game today (America's unofficial holiday).

The ladies are looking lovely on your sun drenched patio there brother. Bobby's Girl is looking scrumdiddliumptious! Excuse me while I wipe the drool from my chin. You make it real hard for me to resist growing something with color. Hopefully some of the beans I just got will turn on me (paradise vertigo and La Diva). If not.. I might just have to go with the Jems instead of BHD's for the approaching outdoor season ;)
