Same thing I keep seeing

Yeah, just a thought on the ppms being the issue. My water is great to drink but usually 7.8-8.1ph and 210+ ppm, not great for plants.

The plant isn't deficient. This is classic nutrient lockout due to an excess of something. Once one single nutrient is in excess, it locks out, or blocks one or more other nutrients from being a available. The problem with bio tabs is that you don't know how much of which nutrient is being released, or when, or in what combinations. The problem with flushing soil with bio tabs in them, is that the tabs will dissolve quicker, thus releasing more nutrients. It's a tough fix to be honest. Any time you pre add things like bio tabs to a soil, you are basically married to it until harvest. There is no way to remove the tabs (or any other premixed product).. The leaves are showing a combination of issues, but it's almost impossible to pinpoint.

Here is a nutrient lock out chart just to give you an idea of the possibilities.. An excess of the nutrients listed on the right, can/will block or lockout the nutrients on the right. Lock outs look like exactly deficiencies .. But it didn't mean that you need to add more of something. It means that the plant can't access certain nutrients that are still in the soil..

Much better said than I could have. Hence if your water is loaded up with something, it could lockout or throw off the rest.

Thanks, come to think of it, it started to get worse after I added a second biotab a week ago

Your water heater can collect heavy metals that leach into the water... i wouldnt use tap water myself, and if i was forced to, i surely wouldnt draw it from the water heater. Could cause weird problems. just a thought..

Thanks, I'll give the heated water a miss. Not in a position to use ro water unfortunately

I'm seeing a similar orange/rusty looking spots on my grow as well:

I'm blaming this on excess calcium resulting in the lock-out of magnesium and phosphorous. Other websites got me paranoid about calcium deficiencies, so I had been giving my plants Cal-Mag with every plain watering, i.e., feed (w/ Cal-Mag), then plain water (w/ Cal-Mag), etc. Thanks to the knowledgeable folks on this forum, I now realize that was dumb, and nutrient balance is key.

Not sure how much calcium is in your nutrients, but your water hardness may be a contributing factor as well.
