Same Problem second grow.

So i have just checked one of the leafs and its not mites, I also tested the water that I have been feeding them and it is 7.4. This is water that has been sitting for a few days also.
Def high enough to cause lock outs.
Ill find the ph lock out chart for ya.
But if thats your nute water ph. Bring it down to 6.0 and flush good. Let her dry up to barely damp. Then proceed with normal watering at 6.0-6.3. ph range.

Should be better in the next 4-7days.
As long as leafs dont fry.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me when I was doing hydro. took me a long time to figure out, it was my water! My plants would hit flower then die. looked like a massive ph problem, but ph wasn't the problem. Do you have well water? Have you checked the ph and ppms of your water? I'd switch to RO water asap. That'
thanks for your reply mate. This is the second grow out of 4 that has gone bad. On the old timers website they state on the bloom nutrient,

Oldtimer Bloom An organic feed for unbeatable taste and flavour. Feeds plants, beneficial fungi and micro-organisms in the growing medium.

As for not ph'ing, I was advised on another forum that because I am growing in soil that ph'ing would not be necessary.

s what cured my issues..........

I have just ph my water to 6.2 and gave them a good soaking, guess only time will tell.

I was not ph'ing my water as I was told that growing in soil the PH would do its own thing.
Yeah, it does its own thing... going hi, going low.... pH testing is an absolute. Those that grow good weed without testing, are either lucky, OR have grown for so long that they can read signs...that tell them the pH is off.

Also if it's city have you checked the readings of what's in it, reason is chlorine will gas off but chloramine won't
If you are on city water, I'd look into this, @Cont3mpt . A quick phone call should get you the information. I can't see what's going on, but chloramine plays hell with pH , among other things.

Just my humble opinion, but never trust advertised "pH perfect" soil or nutes. No two soils have the same buffering abilities. Money well spent would be on an Accurate 8 soil pH meter, it will tell you exactly what's going on in your soil profile. :peace:

Hi mate, I do have a soil ph meter and it reads just above 7.5

I have just done a search and the water in my area is as follows
The water in your area is hard.

To help set your domestic appliances, the water hardness in different units is:
251.5 mg/l (or parts per million) :Calcium Carbonate
100.6 mg/l (or parts per million) :Calcium
17.504 °C :Degrees Clark
25.15 °F :Degrees French
14.285 °dH :Degrees German
2.515 mmol/l :Millimoles

not sure what this means :P so if anyone can explain it would be gratefull

Full disclosure, my eyes don't work so I can't see your pics. But!
7.5 is high. That leads me to believe your soil isn't buffering like it should. 6.4/6.5 is ideal.
I'm not a fan of flushing anything but my toilet, but until I knew whether I had chloramine in my water I'd use good ol' bottled spring water, maybe pH'ed down to 6 for a start. Don't get too crazy, plants don't like radical swings.
Are you watering to runoff? It may be old school, but I still shoot for 10/15% coming out of my pots to help minimize salt buildup, making sure my pots are on racks to keep them from sitting in the discharge water.

All of what @Renaissance Redneck said! Normally, flushing in soil accomplishes washing all the microbial life out... which is why you pay good money...microbes....so not something that's optimal...I try (I'm a stoner give me a break! ) to do a slurry test on my soil prior to plopping the seed in... have found a wide range of "pH buffered soil" at least if your in front of planting, you can amend the soil to get the pH up or down.
