yes using tap water. dont have a ph tester .....

Do you guys have a water softener on you house system? That might be causing the excess salt.

My own tap water is very hard. So i get allot of calcium build up if i use it. It is also very high in ph, 8 some times 8.9. Some households have softners so the water isn't as hard.

When you get around to it, it's a good idea to use a Reverse osmosis system! It will take the guess work out of your water.

I wanted to get a R/O system from the water softner folks but they said I would only get 6-7 gal of h2o a day & that's just not enough.

I don't remember what my system puts out. I know i had the option to get a booster pump that would double my output. Mine has worked for me because i bubble water at all times. So i just add some water to my res every day. Flush time is when i use it up dry.

The biggest hassle is the filters. I go through the first 3 stages pretty fast. every 2 months it seemed like for a while there. It'll start making a weird noise when it's time to swap filters.

So i've gone back to using rain water and RO when that runs out. Especially at flush time..

i like rainwater best... i have a huge 200 gallon collection tank that constantly bubbles... its the ticket

Cannabis needs just as much fresh water as it needs nutrients...sometimes if ur growing in potted soil and use a"chemical " plant food it can actually make ur soil infertile meaning no microbes...always use organic fertilizers to feed the soil so that the microbes can help out..Never be afraid to use fresh water between feedings...good luck with all of ur endeavors

I love the winter here...there's water/snow laying every where...hahaha

I collect rain water as well, but icant depend on the rain to do a hydro system...

ive been looking into a countertop water distiller. they dont make that much per hour but the water you get out is distilled. want to use that between the rain and snow water. plus the water thats here has so much lime that it causes kidney stones in sum ppl so we are gonna try one of those countertop water distillers,(oh ya shh dont tell the ole lady but it also makes great hash plus you can get your alcohol back to make more lol) hope this helps sorry for the rambling :bong:
