S1's or F1's

I may need to reword this,
If someone offered you a strain of seeds and gave you a choice of either F1's or S1's which would you prefer and why?
Unfortunately, it's not that simple. Why would I, or anyone want s1's of a strain if F1's are still available? Why would someone make s1's of a strain if f1's are available? Every S1 seed I've ever had is from a verified cut of a strain that can no longer be made and/or is incredibly hard to get your hands on.. Like gg4 s1's, geisel s1, crippy s1's ect. The person you are dealing with may have their terminology wrong.. Maybe they mean that they have f1 regs of a strain and that they reversed a plant to make a fem version of the strain, and that he has a reg version and a fem version.. But who knows. In this case I'd take whatever he is calling the f1's, lol.
I made a mistake, it will be F2's, I'm making the seeds. I reversed a female Super OG auto and crossed it with a Jack Herer auto these are the F1's.
Now I have reversed an F1 and I'm going to pollinate another F1 to make F2's but I usually get seeds from the female I reversed
which would be an S1 I believe. so what I want to know is are the self pollinated seeds better than the F2's or would they be basically the same.
or for that mater if |I used an already stable strain and reversed one and got some self pollinated as well should I keep them separated or put them all in one container and expect roughly the same results when I grow them.
I hope that doesn't sound to hard to follow cause it sure was hard to put into words and I haven't even smoked yet.
