My fav shop was Basjoe and Katsu...They had some decent white russian, white rhino and lavender.

Katsu was down the street from the apartment I stayed in, if I remember correctly (it's all a haze!) Don't remember what special strains they had when I was there, but the environment was chill, the bud was good, and it wasn't a far walk. It was in De Pijp, right?

Ban in effect in Limburg, Brabant and Zeeland. Not yet in effect in Amsterdam (or the rest of Holland).
The government is backing away from the "Wietpas" as in those three provinces there's been a huge drop in coffeeshop business and an increase in street dealing and associated crime... as predicted.
It's due to come into force in Amsterdam on Jan 1st 2013 but that's all down to the general election taking place tomorrow... and either way there are those talking about taking the case to court and others about boycotting.
