I heard that Amsterdam has shut its coffee shops and infermeries to all tourists.You have to have a local ID to enter and buy pot.Anybody else here anything about this?

I too have heard this. I do believe it's been enacted, though don't quote me on that. I'd probably get in touch with their tourism agency or whatever to find out for yourself for sure.

my understanding is as of Jan of 2013 tourists will be banned and only locals with a weed pass will be allowed to enter the shops. I went to Amsterdam in 2008. I was NOT impressed! My impression was it was all mass produced product. No love at all. You have to figure, they need enough product to supply every tourist and local.....

Agreed, though several shops definitely had higher quality bud than others. I know I sound like a pathetic fanboy, but my favorite bud I've smoked so far was from Greenhouse Seeds - their Super Lemon Haze. We stopped by their shop after walking for most of the day, very tired and ordered a gram of that for 3 of us, which we quickly rolled up. Almost immediately upon finishing it, we were all raring to go again. It was the most uplifting marijuana, and some of the longest lasting too. I really really need to grow some for myself at some point...

My fav shop was Basjoe and Katsu...They had some decent white russian, white rhino and lavender.

i rarely bought from coffee shops when i lived in holland the best smoke is sold by house dealers, the opposition party have said theyll change the law back when they get into power sj

Ok, then its not a rumor.I never planned to go there anyway.Why would i spend money to go all the way over there to buy weed when i have dnyomite smoke in my closet,and that only ten feet away.:booya:
