I've been an avid gamer since the Atari 2600 console in the late 70's. Adveture games were one of the first big things, back then they were all text with a few that had graphics (The Hobbit!).

Since then i mainly played strategy games and First Person Shooters (FPS).

Recently i picked up an RPG game, a genre i've toyed with but not enjoyed a lot until now (dragonage/skyrim).

I'm totally hooked ! I think this game is under-rated which is why i'm posting about it (and also i'm totally frakkin whacked on this NLBB oven-dried smoke so i'm having a posty hour now, i realise!).

Sometimes you want to finish work, get the headphones on and shoot loads of people in CoD or BF4 or whatever.

Now i like to unwind by wandering pink and blue lands, picking flowers to mix health potions with, while listening to a modern rendition of medieval music.

It's single-player so can get a bit lonely, but the world is HUGE and the story is great with MILLIONS opf side-quests, etc. Made by big huge games who love large worlds.

You do get some party combat but you're mostly fighting alone (tho i've only done a few quewsts so this may change).

Anyway, totally whacked now.

Lady Cannabis is weaving her tender, knowing fingers through the threads of my brain ;+}

Link above is a really funny review, if you're at all cynical.

RE:SAO - if you have streaming, it's available...

I loved the cassette tape on the Atari.

brrrrrrr .... brrrrr ...... brrrrrr ....

Before I got the 1541 floppy drive, all my data was on cassette..... "push play on cassette now" LOL

I had the 5400 baud modem so I could hook up to Compuserve :0 over the phone.

Youngsters!! With your modern 5 1/4 floppy disks

With an unofficial tape drive (which in 1981 was a ,,,,, cassette player) - the noise was unbearable.
You'd happy code for 3 hours just to get a million syntax errors from dodgy printed manuals or a spider bouncin up and down.... just to avoid that sound.

That was until this bad boy came along

and eventually - a tape player that could mute that god awful sound! lol

I had a Commodore Vic 20(I used t`play Galaxians on it...via a cartridge that slipped in the back). Then I bought a 2nd hand spectrum(mark 1)! The noise from the tape recorder was a bleedin` nightmare! "Eye roll"

Man, we're old....I forgot that my C64 took cartridges as well....dot matrix printing, LOL. With little wheel hole tabs you had to remove...

Stick is so old that he remembers playing pong when he was a youngun.

Awesome pics as always blue.
