New Grower Round 2 for first indoor harvest

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that miracle grow incorporated a slow release nitrogen formula that causes issues for cannabis. Maybe my concern is misplaced with the miracle grow but last I checked the Canna community hates them as much as Monsanto.

I asked because growing in two different mediums with two different sets of needs feed/ph wise seems daunting for a new grower and with two different strains.

What kind of deficiencies were you having in coco? I find with my grow that all my issues relate to the coco drying out, I multi feed in straight coco and it has still dried out with 8 feeds a day, and the other issues tend to be due improper ph or improper feeding. The CalMag with be essential to feeding the coco every time you water with your other nutrients and your absolutely cannot let the coco dry or otherwise you end up with salt build up, nutrient lockouts, improper ph etc. You'll never want to water with plain water and your ph will do best in the 5.8-6.2 range for coco. With the perlite mixed in you're probably going to dry out faster requiring daily or multiple watering per day at some point because you can't let it dry out.

What nutrients do you plan to use? Excuse me if I'm over stepping as everyone has their preferred methods and stuff
I wouldve preferred fox farms but chose mg because money was a bit tight. I had a bean already germinated and I needed soil asap, I didnt want to use coco again. Wasnt very well planned out to say the least, but planning on getting fox farms soil at some point for next run.
I'm not 100% positive but I believe the plants were showing signs of iron and magnesium deffincies, and that would probably make sense cuz i haven't been giving them calmag. Just started adding a small amount of calmag to the water about 2 nights ago, only for the wedding cake in coco. Should I be using calmag daily for coco?
I plan on using the fox farm trio for nutrients - big bloom, grow big and tiger bloom . I also I have some great white mycorrhizae mixed in with every watering .

My tap has an obscene amount of a CalMag that I hardly have to supplement but... yeah you need calmag with every watering.

Good luck

Fox Farms makes some good soil IMO....it ALL works though,v you just gotta figure out how to utilize it. Name ANY prebagged mix from Scott's Miracle Grow (Monsanto) to Schultz potting mix to Ocean Forest, to BioBizz to Promix to Plagron and everything in between, someone is having fantastic results with each. Back in the 90s, we grew 3 almost hydroponic Bubbleberry Kush clones outside in 5 gallon buckets. Lots of holes in the buckets, a few inches of smooth river rocks on the bottom to block the holes, Miracle Grow potting mix on top of that. Used some bat guano that I had lying around mixed in and some Schultz Tomato Bloom that I bought at Country Max across the street from the plants...that looks like Cobalt blue chunks of rock salt. It was like $4. Made a nutrient solution out of the Schultz with spring fed pond water as our water source. OMG. This dope came out PHENOMENAL!! Little kids, cheap noots, by the end we had completely washed everything out of the soil....just a good spot, the sunshine, and we visited them 3 times a week. You can make anything work.

THEY'RE called KAAAAHBS Joe's dad's stuff

Let’s see some pics @mnbuds to see what we’re working with!!!

Thier looking good bro!!!

Hey afn, update on the ladies

Wedding cake a little over a week old is going good so far, somewhat worried about her color. Adding a small amount of grow big and big bloom as well as calmag to her feed every day.

Sour crinkle on day 3 or 4 doing great , no issues

I noticed that I have a few gnats flying around. Just noticed this morning so I'm assuming it's from the mg soil, thinking maybe I should cover the top in a layer of perlite. Anyone have a different suggestion to take care of them pesky buggers ?
