He said using auto pots is so easy it’s like cheating so I’m not sure why you had a hard time with them. What nutrient brand did you use.? And how many grows did you use them for before you decide to give up on them.? I might get 1 or 2 and see how it goes
I tried megacrop, h&g, and Athena in autopots. Probably 5 or 6 runs. Always ended up with problems in flower

Ok. He uses canna, I don’t know if you’ve heard of the brand crop salts but apparently they are the best brand to use in reservoirs and it keeps the tubing clean.

I've never really had any problems keeping tubing clean. I change most of it each run. I haven't used crop salts but I think it's supposed to be comparable to Jack's. I've been using floraflex nutes for a little while now

AutoPots are not simple: moving parts/valves, plumbing, requires a central reservoir (with all its problems), etc.

Consider passive self-watering bottom-feeding bases, such as the "Self-Watering Fabric Pot Base" from AC Infinity. I currently use these, and the plants grow much bigger than manually feeding; I presume much the same as with bottom-feeding AutoPots. You just place normal, such as 3 or 5 gallon, fabric bags, on the base that has rope wicks dipping into the reservoir below, with the coco/perlite wicking up the feed water from the base via the rope/wicks at it needs it. All you have to do is fill each base/reservoir, that holds a gallon.
