Grow Mediums ROOOOOTS! A case for root control discs

Hey guys, I have my journal in here. I figured I should make a separate thread for this topic and try to draw attention to it for more people to see this for themselves... Basically on the day I was turning on the reservoir I realized I was a few root control discs short! I know I had them all but anyways that’s not the point. I told myself I’d get a bunch in the next week.... well that came and passed as well. Life got busy, and I totally forgot! Tonight I was cleaning up some lowers and eliminating a few branches here and there as I easily have 3-4 more plants in my tent than I need! Anyways here are some pics from the pots without the root control discs in place...

If you ask me, this is how valves get clogged and reservoirs empty out! Lol. I honestly believe if it was not addressed today it would have led to a system failure within a few more weeks.

Wow those roots are gnarly! I now definitely understand why my Autopot system came with the PotSocks. I've had her setup for about 3 days now, and am so glad I made the purchase. Works very well so far, my roots are exploding in the PotSocks, girls are happy, and I don't have to hand water & deal with run off daily anymore.

I gotta find some of those pot sock things! Really love not having to hand water! I’m really happy with how these airpots seem to be doing with the system so far... I grow in straight coco and just wasn’t liking the way the standard 3.9 gal pots were just getting totally soaked and staying that way. I’d like to try something like a radicle bag or rain science bags for a larger pot size as these are the largest airpots that fit in the trays

That’s what we’re all here for my friend! Can’t even begin to tell you many times over the past few years I’ve been looking in on your DP strain grows. Wouldn’t have been able to do that without people like you sharing!

Thank you for your kind words. I too have learned most of my knowledge from this site. I always am thinking of the new grower when I post in my threads. Damn there are SO many questions that need answers when we all start out.
