But really, I've got the irrigation timing down and am now giving moisture multiple times a day for 1 minute duration. I've ordered switch timers that go to as little as a ten second duration. Once I have this, I'm going to increase the frequency and tighten the moisture tolerance in the containers.
This is a huge success upon which I'll build, adding an injector Friday to constantly stream compost tea and traces of P and K (during flower) into the water and then get a quieter holding tank air pump so I only have to listen to the industrial one for a 24 hours 2x a week...
I guess this is a good segue to my new nutrition program. Currently I'm brewing Boogie Brew 2x week and providing nutrition with water multiple times a day. I'm testing supplementing P and K during flower at greatly reduced concentrations. The soil is so alive and efficient right now that a little supplemental nutrition goes a looooong way.
So far the plants seem to be taking to the new nutrition regime with aplomb... phew...
Since I've been immersed in this a few large batches of brain fart mixes have been pumped out to a stream that flows through the perennial gardens... Holy CRAP!!!!!!!! Any doubt in my mind that this stuff does something is gone! I've never seen the garden so lush and so many flowers... All along the banks of the brook... Just like used to happen with the run-off of my giant compost piles I used to maintain at a home I had in rural Massachusetts... Awesome!
Right now I'm still digesting the science and pretty much going with my gut on this stuff... that and hours of observation... any chance I can get... trying to watch out for nutrition 'red flags' which we're all familiar with I expect...
Anyway - Irrigation, check... Nutrition, who knows... going with the flow... seeing good things...
I'm working my way up to a ritualistic seed sowing come Saturday... lets see what happens...
