Hi growers, I'm currently 3 weeks into flower and struggling to control humidity in my 70cmx70cmx120 tent, could anyone advise on how to keep it low, I live in Scotland and dont have much space for a dehumidifier from what I read the damage may already be done but nothing visible that I can see, some lower leaves yellowing.

Also I'm feeding 1l every second day adding biobizz nutes every other time, they only seem comfortable with .25 ml per L, one plant burns at that so only ever gets water and the other 2 verly slightly burn is this normal at this stage I've read people feed 12x what I give mine.

Should I clip the yellowing dead leaves off or leave them be?

I've attached pics, I left the plants to do their thing no training or anything as it's my first time and didnt want to get carried away. Any advice is appreciated thanks.

Are you growing autos or photos? If photos, you should be running 12/12 or some variant in flower. If you ran your light at night(cooler temps= more humidity), this may help regulate the humidity. If you are running autos, you could try the 24/0 light schedule. Over all no matter what you are growing, spread each plant as wide open as you can to allow circulation(providing you have a fan or two in your tent). Either way, the more circulation/ breeze you have in there without going overboard, the less likely humidity will be catastrophic.
If you can manage to stay closer to the 55% and circulate well, you should have no issues.

My extractor manages my humidity. Hooked up to an inkbird humidity controller. I set the level I want humidity at, if it goes above then the extractor kicks in and sucks the humid air out. If it drops below a certain level the controller switches on my humidifier.

Some day I’ll have that setup too!

Does this mean that when your humidity is in range you don’t have any extraction running? Does it end up causing increased smells in your grow area if the fan is off for awhile? I’ve been thinking about a similar setup but I feel like I’d always prefer to have at least a little bit of exhaust happening even when my numbers are in range.

That's the way to do it. I have an inkbird temp controller, but not the humidity one. One day...

I have had perfect performance from a couple inkbird controllers, both 120V and 12V. In my opinion that company makes first class gear for amazing prices.

Thanks for chiming in on this.

Yes when it’s range it stops running. But I set the upper and lower RH parameters on the inkbird so close to the RH I want, that the fan still ends up running most of the time when I’m in flower. I get very little smell out of the tent unless I actually open it to water or if I have a vent open with the fan off. I tend to keep my vents shut throughout flower though.

Hi @lockdowngrower, nice looking plant. You definitely want to get humidity down to the ~50% range or a bit lower for flowering. If extracting from your tent will not do the job, you could try a dehumidifier outside the tent in the same room. This should allow you to get the RH in the tent down without using space you don't have. As your buds plump up, RH in the 70's and 80's could mean mould and lots of it.

Another option to help with the mould issue is a product called RotBlock. Not sure whether you can get your mitts on it in Scotland, but it seems effective, and could save your bud from mould if you can't control the RH.

Good luck with the grow. :pighug:

You can remove some of the lower and middle fan leaves. Will lower the humidity some and give you better circulation. It is a much better option than bud rot or pm. I have a small dehumidifier outside of my tent by my intake with a inkbird humidity controller.
