Grow Mediums Res temps

yup, like 1stimer says , its not a good idea for ice to be in direct contact with roots either. If your any good at DIY you could cover them in reflective or insulated material as well .Or put the air pump just outside the tent ect to draw cooler air ?:cough::smokebuds:
Komach does a good thread on DWC res temp control in the DIY Section :peace:

PS....Just checked & my temps where 24.3 oC & it's a bit early so i just put a t-shirt over the bucket ... pointed the fan at the air pump & put the mouse pad it was sat on over it to shade the LED & temps are now 22.8 oC

Okay so no ice to root contact and diy is my three middle names. Ha ha. But thsnks for that thread info ill deffinatly be checking it out, my nl x bb was a dud so i got northen lights blue sprouted in coco now but supposably its a hardie - rookie resistsnt plant, i oppend my side vents and my rest temps at 72*F or 22.2*C i think thats alright for now but well see when she gets bigger:cough::smokebuds:

Insulate your bucket! I noticed they ice bottle in root zone isn't much of a problem. The ice melts in the bottle pretty quick, and only the core is still ice after 10 min or so, the outer edge is already water. If you are worried, take plant out of bucket add water bottle and stir it around for a sec, it will melt the outer layer so there is no risk of shock.

Also if keeping res temps in the 60s proves to be too much of a pain, I highly suggest using heisenbergs tea, check sticky for beneficial bacteria and root rot. Using this tea you can get away with slightly higher res temps. 70-72 is plenty good with the tea. Probably 74 a bit warm, but ok as long as that's as high as it ever goes.

Any idea where i can find where to make these teas and others as well?
