Hi I just started using the autopot 4 pot system. The grow is going well but have noticed the reservoir ph is creeping up from 6.0/6.2 to 6.8/7 every couple days.
Using RO water and Remo Nutrients.
Remo is supposed to be ph neutral.

I suspect some chemical reaction happening and may just dump the res and give it a thorough cleaning and start fresh.
Only been in use for 10 days.

Any thoughts as too why?

Mine did the exact same when I was using them. What medium are you running in the pots? Soil or coco? Nothing wrong with a little pH sway, as long as it stays within the range for the medium you’re using.

Hi Garage Grower,
I am using coco/perlite as a growing medium.
I agree a little swing is fine as it allows different nutrients to be used better by the plant by differing the ph.
Soil is more forgiving then coco I think as it can buffer the wide swings in ph.
Seeing a slight froth on the top of the water in the res and ph at 7.1 today. Going to dump and clean the whole system and start from scratch.
The whole reason I decided on Autopots is for a start and leave system due to my busy work schedule.

right i use autopots and remo have you got anything in your res maybe an airstone that can make your ph go out of wack as mine never goes that far out maybe an odd point or so

Ya I ran coco as well, and have used both General Hydroponics Trio and the MegaCrop Line. GH was swinging everyday on me, so I switched to MC thinking it would help, but same thing happened. I ended up just letting it drift, as I couldn’t figure a way to keep it stable. I’ve read someone used to mix their nutrients, then hit it with an air stone for a day, then PH it and use it.

Hi St Tom.
No, I am not using an air stone or anything to agitate the res.

Spoke with a Remo rep and they suggest adding some magnifical (Cal/Mag) first to stablize the RO water. Then add remainder of Nutrients. After that check ph and adjust using ph up or down as needed.
They agreed to a complete cleaning of the res. Then start fresh.
Perhaps I contaminated the water somehow. Will clean my ph tester and anything else that could be involved.

I will post the results.

After reviewing my grow journal I remembered I had used vinegar to adjust my res PH down when I first started it.
This is most likely the culprit as I have discovered it is not stable and can cause the PH changes.
So lesson learned. No organics like vinegar.
I cleaned the res thoroughly almost 24 hrs ago and added cal/mag to the RO water 1st to stabilize the water. Then the rest of the nutes at close to 33% strength. The PH was sitting at 5.61 and the PPM at 565.
Today the PH is at 5.64 and the PPM the same at 565.
So far so good.
Plants are growing well and looking healthy.

Let us know how it goes. I'm interested to hear if the PH remains stable. Are you useing the Remo Nutrient Calculator to arive at 565 PPM? I have a Remo Supercharged Kit that I was planing to use next run. I was advised to start at 1/2 the Calculator rate when useing Autopots.
