Lighting Renovations = Big toys, Help me choose!

I'm a Vipar user, this 800w+ true power beast has just come out bit over your budget at $648.98 but that's a lot of power there!

1800W VIPAR LED Grow Light Full Spectrum

Wow that's awesome, thanks for the replies!
I am really curious about the Spectrum King. Mainly because it has a awesome design and seems to be top of the line for quality and technology. The heat sink is huge and it just looks damn cool, and that 5 year warranty is awesome.

The Grow Northern lights look awesome, but there are none available on there site and there is no price tag....weird. I might have to go with a Vipar because it is within my price range, 1200 watts for less than 500. Then sell the rest of my old lights somehow and maybe buy a Spectrum King in the future.

Like you said, I have been waiting for a Spectrum King grow for ever and have yet to see one. There is one on YouTube, but it is of the much smaller Halo. You can check it out here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9DDv6IhTsw. Looks pretty nice though for small 25w HALOS.

Bilbo is that drawing around 900watts from the wall? Holy Smokes thats one beast of an LED. I might just have to pick that up because thats the only light I would need :) Looks like it has growth and bloom switches to!!! O.O

Also Bilbo, are there heatsinks that you can see that are cooling the diodes or is it just fans? My TOPLED 450 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Reflector-4...7070482?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item2a37ef8512 is only cooled by fans, and that makes me sad. Kinda cheaply made for the price. I want a bang for my buck, gana sell this one asap.

I must add, that the 1800 Watt LED would be bad ass! but I'm not sure that I am going to need that much power. I am only going to be growing 2 HeavyWeight Fast and Vast in RDWC. At the MAX 4 so I don't want to have a bunch of extra light that isn't adding yield to the plant.

Thanks again, look forward to hearing some more responses :)

I'm going to try to help you out green bro. You don't have to listen to me but I'm going to give you the best advice possible. Ditch the big wattage LEDs. I'll tell you now its going to be a big pain when it comes to growing multiple strains at once, if you have one strain stretch to 3ft and another only 1ft there will be no way for you to get sufficient lighting to both plants unless you stack your plants on something which you run the risk of them possibly falling over. I feel the big 1000+ watt LEDs are for commercial led growers people that can use 10-20 of those lights in a warehouse type setting. It doesn't make since to me to use just one of thoses lights for growing.

The best option especially working with LEDs is the more the better, you get more efficient coverage also. I'd by 2-3 nice LEDs that way you can get better more durable light coverage.

I like your style magic, and that does make a lot of sense over buying one big Ol Panel. Those Large Panels are just so enticing, because I want them to be able to replace a full HPS system. Its such a hard decision because every company claims best and brightest so it takes a lot of research to find a reputable company that isn't ripping you off. VIPAR is looking like the choice I will be going with, they are USA distributed with warranty, they have heat sinks and the right wavelengths. A lot of you guys say you have the VIPARS and that they work. I want the 1200 watter. But was thinking maybe 2 600s would be a better option......I....May...never decide :X

GB, I run dual 320x leds in a 4 X 4 tent and like the results. It is shy of the 50w per square foot, but it works for what I want. Like Magic suggested, I woudl run a few smaller lights for better coverage of different strains. you could run 1 giant led, but you also run the risk of burning the babies, even when a bigger led is at the top of the tent. I run only 1 led for the first 2 weeks and fire up the other panel once they get a few nodes going.
