Hello,

Not posted for a while been doing more reading.

I am about to start my 2nd grow and I need a way to silence my fans 6 and 4 inch rvk.

I have read many diy things about boxes, mufflers, acoustic ducting etc.

I was planning using 2 cardboard boxes to put the fans inside filling with foam sealing them then maybe insulated ducting to control the sound of air.

What is the easiest way to do this, I'm not very mobile at the moment as recently had an op so looking for minimal diy work or cheap things to buy.

What does everyone else do to control the noise?

Cheers,

Stu

Depends on the kinds of noise. Cheaper fans tend to make more extraneous noise. I utilize a Variac controller to operate my Vortex fans. The only extra noise I have is if I turn it to a higher setting. The Variac is probably my favorite piece in my grow arsenal. The past few years my main tent has my fan on top of filter outside the tent. Under the filter I placed a square of Sorbothane and that helped with the vibration aspect. I also have Sorbothane washers and bushings that can be used. You can try wrapping the fan housing. Somebody makes leather covers too.
