Quick disclaimer I attempted to do a CBD Lavender , and a unknown Buddha seed. I ran into so many heat issues that I was uncomfortable continuing until the problem was solved. Long story short I am doing the corrected journal now. I expected both seeds to die and one did, but not the CBD lavender lol, so now I have twin Lavenders and a new Buddha seed; which must be a skunk relation cause it reeks at day 22 (July 12, 14). I have learned a lot and used a lot of new equipment (which ill do write ups for)
Seeds: CBD Lavender, and a Buddha seed from the variety 10 pack (I assume its one with a skunk background(reeks))
Medium: Fox Farm Ocean Forest with a topsoil buffer (baseball sized chunk dead center) for the initial week or so…
Nutrients: Full line of Earth Juice (Grow, Bloom, Catalyst, Meta K, MicroBlast, Cal-Mag)
General Hydro PH +,- , GH Rapid Start
Water: Tap water at 7.8-8.0 PH down to 6.0 -7.0 (Avg 6.5)
Lighting: 16 CFL’s (Intitailly was 24 but ran too hot) During seedling to early Veg,
As of July 3,14 Generic LG 300w LED (I’ll do a write up for this, only good things to say)
Grow Room: Stor-It-All 70.5-in H x 38.5-in W x 20.5-in D Wood Composite Multipurpose Cabinet from Lowes. I made a bunch of modifications, including re-enforcing all corners and removing the left side top shelf ((this gave me all of the vertical space available on the left-side) I am going to do a photo SCROG RDWC next)) I was forced into this after a successful grow in the my shed, but summer in a sub-tropical region (temps were consistently 90+ degrees F, followed by a completely rebuilt room in the garage in which a 300sqft A/C could not beat).
History: (Had to do it like this, due to uncertainty.)
June 20,14 (Day 1) for the new seeds (Day 6 for the Center Lavender)
June 25 Plain PH-ed water
July 1, 14 Extended Nutes(more than grow/bloom) Nutes Half Strength of Grow, Bloom, Catalyst, Meta-K, MicroBlast
July 4, 14 Plain PH-ed water
July 8,14 Plain PH-ed water
July 12,14 Basic Nutes (Full Grow, 1/2 Bloom, 1/2 Catalyst)
July 13, 14 Current (Nothing besides daily PH-ed Foiliar Spray)

Note: I have something on the 16[SUP]th[/SUP] that might take a couple of days, but ill be back. (Like ten days, I felt obligated to re-attack this grow,(“once I draw the sword from the sheath It cannot return it till it draws blood”.) that $hit is so funny to me

A couple of quick questions. I typically give nutes every 3rd water (I do a Rapid root on most watering's) but, should I supplement cal-mag during non-nute watering's, the led light i have seems to be doing well with both a&b chlorophyll (very dark green, and the intensity causes slight discoloring, not the level of bleaching, but typical for an led) I saw a BOM that the grower was using cal-mag regularly (Bambaaacha's Durban poison). So what constitutes using It, just with nutes/ or when it becomes deficient? or just regularly?
PS I feel like a black sheep on here sometimes. I know people are busy lol. Thanks

Hey Panic, good to see you around brother. Plants looks very nice as well. Fingers crossed that LED keeps the height down!

To answer your question about cal-mag....
Next to nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium calcium is the 4th most important fertilizer for a plant. Adding calcium to the medium, brings more food to the plants by pushing away the ions. Furthermore the calcium advances the analysis of organic substances, through which more nutrient elements will be available. The amount of growth will rise after adding the calcium and the medium seems to be more fertile. In reality the medium pauperizes, because the plant will have a greater intake of food. By simply using more fertilizers, we solve this problem, which results in higher gains of the harvest.

Calcium is essential in a plant. It binds acids which would poison the plant. For example, oxale acid and calcium sit together with protein in a certain connection in the cell wall. If the plants do not contain enough calcium they will form long weak stems. The leaves will also be weak and the roots do not form optimally.

So, I normally add calcium to my nutrient mix as well as foliar feed with calcium at least twice a week, sometimes more. So long as I don't see any clawing or burning tips of the leaves. You will notice substantial bud growth if you foliar feed calcium during flowering as well. So long as your plant is healthy, you shouldn't have any concerns with boytris. I have foliar fed calcium up to the week prior to harvest and then sprayed with plain water for the last few days to rinse off any residue.

Hopefully that helps you out with your question. Best of luck with your grow!

Great, Sorry to keep PM you but I consider you a great source of knowledge; as I do with a lot of other members (but people get busy). That helps a lot a watering is coming up so I will add the cal-mag on nute waterings, and once in a while in the foliar. Thanks for the reply.

Eyes on Fire , Thanks for the like, as others looked but didn't utter a word.

Better to give no advice than bad advice so a lot of people don't feel comfortable about commenting. Thanks for the kind words. PM's are no bother, it is the best way to get my attention because normally I am just bumming around not really paying much attention to anyone and reading through old grow logs. Trying to glean a little knowledge from the ones that paved the road.

Hey panic, good clean set up!! Cal/Mag is a must like A4 said!! Some folks say they need it earlier than others. It all depends on your led spectrum and soil/soilless medium. In my setup, i need it by week 3. some say they dont need it until later in flower. It is entirely up to the plant. 1 thing is certain, you will eventually need it with autos and Led. Just dont over do the cal/mag. Higher doses it can be toxic. Follow the directions on the bottle and start out at 1/4 to 1/2 strength. I dont' foliar my plants but some do. Try 1 with foliar and 1 without and see for yourself and take good notes. Just 1 hint, add cal/mag or silica, FIRST to your feed water. It can bounce the ph a bit.

" This helped a lot for the understanding of the cellular effect of CalMag. Ironically i accidentally topped the Buddha seed, I kind of just added slight pressure to (what would have been the main cola) and it kinda snapped. I couldn't tape it cause it was way to small.

Briman,
Thanks for the reply, I am also in your same mind frame of less can be more, instead of just pushing nutrients.
