Hi all!
I could be mistaken, but I think I'm finding a correlation between reddening leaf stems and leaves that are either dying or deff in some fashion or those on their way out.
:shrug:
I have limited space, I've found my 2x 4' light fixtures aren't covering all the plants like I'd prefer and I'm attempting to get as much light as i can to bud sites so ive been snipping off shadowy leaves and thin, spindly branches.
:shrug:
I've noticed that leaves with spots or browning edges and such reddened starting from the leaf down the stem.
:shrug:
Certainly no scientific experimentation going on here, just an observation.
Wondering if anyone else had noticed this and if this reddening points to a specific nutrient.
:shrug::wall:

Not the best example, got all my leaves and bits in the freezer. This is off Blue mystic, but I've found the same on Jock horror, bubblelicious and short ryder

cold temps at night or any time will cause this all the time i am no expert just from experience and my 2 cents.

COuld be a too much N issue starting or could be nothing..hit up the 24 hr help thread ..are you growing in new soil?
Hey dab!
No I'm in dwc. I'll post over there too. I'm not I'm a panic or anything. This is my 1st grow and is coming to and end and i was just curious. They're all doing good otherwise. Being new at this I'm sure they could be better, but for me I'm good with them.
Thanks!

Hmm I'll snap some pics later I'm in soil but have the same issue I'm getting down to 65 at night thought that was my issue I'm in soil though.

I could be wrong entirely. I've got 4 strains blue mystic, bubblelicious, jock horror and short ryder. They've all had red stems at some point or another. Haven't read about red stems anywhere yet so I just wondering.

that shitty leave happened when i forgot to ph my water and it locked up but the red/blue happened because of my temps getting to cold no expert could be wrong but mine is from the cold im almost positive.

:smoking: hey there NRK'! How are your hottie GF's doing, almost ready?! :eyebrows: ..yes indeed, sometimes red stems/petioles are indicative of P defc., but usually there are other signs on the leaf to go along with it,...that's usually the tell,..otherwise, it's likely a genetic or environmental thing,.. color expression may, and often, come late,...strong light can do it too- auxiliary pigments like reds, and purp's are formed to protect the chlorophyll pigments from damage by overexposure,... temps that get around 50F can start a mild form of defc. too (doesn't move well in the plant when cold),.. often shows in the leaves especially as beautiful colors!
