First time grow.

Setup:
6'x4'x6' self made cab.
6" inline fan
passive intake
2 6" clip fans
4 400watt vipar led (200watt draw each)
20/4 light schedule
FFOF soil: run off is 6.8ph (water in 7.8) water filtered with Brita 6.9. Even with water of 7.8pm the run off was 6.8ph, guess that's with the buffers in FFOF
24" led distance for seedlings
Seeds planted straight to pots after tap roots shown from germination
3gal equivalent air pots
temp range 59f (lights off) - 80f
RH 35-50%

10Plants ranging from 5-8days. They don't have much vertical height, and a few of them still look how they did on the their 2nd day. (didn't take pictures of all plants, only a few)

I'm not sure if my plants are stunted, I watered them twice already until little run off came out of the pots (I prob shouldve held off on the 2nd time) there was a 4 day gap from that watering. No nutrients were added to the water. I plan on waiting almost a week now for the next watering (although my soil isn't damp, but it feels cool, a little moist). I see other posts with people using CFLs and their seedlings are stretched out but, they appear to look good on the 2nd week to an untrained eye. What would be a good watering schedule or indication to water with my current room conditions?

Any opinions would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi solarcris, thanks for sharing your first grow, we will try to help you :tiphat:
Are you saturating your media and then letting it get fairly dry before feed/watering again?
Given the plants you have and according to the size of the pot,
I think you can let them dry for 5 days at least.

Later, when the plants are bigger, you'll need to be watering more often.
it's a good idea to lift the pots when they have water and when they are dry, so you have an idea to compare and know when is time to water again.
Best of luck and do't forget to share more of your grow ;)

Hey there Solar C.

You are doing fine. It is typical for the plants to go a little slow at first. Give them another week or so before you start to panic.

Two cups of water every other day should work. But as jay states, if it is cool, you can hold off on watering as it doesn't evaporate as quickly. Cool temps will also keep growth down.

Try to keep them warm, especially the roots.

Thanks for the replies. I wouldn't say i saturate the media, i water enough for a little run off, and with the air pots they do a good job of that. Also i water around the the plants and the water fills in the area. When lights are off my lowest temp reached 59f. When lights are on the temp. is around 80f for 20hrs. I would assume my soil is around that temperature, also the air pots will help the soil to stay warm correct? I will pay close attention to the watering for the next couple of weeks.

Its hard to look at other grows and compare them with your own. I guess the only ones i can compare are mine after i get a few under my belt.

Hey Solar, when i water my seedlings i pre water the pot 3 days before planting, then only use a sprayer to moisten the surface and around the seedling, for its first few days. Then i water with a couple of cups of water. It is at least 2 weeks of age before it gets a full pot water with runoff. Just my way cheers

thanks kyliekay, I will remember that for the next grow. I was going to let the soil soak overnight but, I couldn't wait any longer after the seeds opened up.

Look fine for 5 days, slow going first 2 weeks then they will take off.

That's great advice Kyliekay, thanks ;)

I would have said it the same way you did.

No saying this is, for sure, the problem (if there is one) with solarcrisis plants, but taken as an isolated advice it is a very good one, specially when dealing with autoflowering plants.

Hope they now start developing faster solarcrisis. All the best my friend!

Cheers and sweet smokes!!
