Grow Mediums Rebel's Road to Redemption -- Dueling Tents

Rebel your nutes may already have this; but, are you going to add Silica (Blast). If so, when.

I will let you know when I get rolling. Decided to soak seeds for the day and then paper towel. Five seeds and four varieties.

Have a new set-up, so, if it looks good will start journal--herein.

borrow Frau Helga's metal helmet, and a Kevlar jock strap, lest the Beast cleaves you in twain from crown to crotch with her Spanish-forged ruler!!

You got ahead of me... wait until you see what the Wife bought... well she bought it last month for Frau Helga but it was too big... But I'll show it to you anyway sometime soon!

All caught up now reb :cough:and taking my seat :D. Good green grow karma headed your way bro :smokebuds:

Great to have you aboard Rob! Thank you for the Karma and for following my first stab at Coco!

Alan, I'm glad you mentioned that because I forgot to list that in my nute line up. Yes I do use Botanicare Silica Blast... I have to reference my notes but it's either at 2 weeks or 1 month... I'll get back to you on that in a few here... Please do my friend! You know I'll be there! I'm sure you will be just fine man!! :wiz:

Rebel gets a Rebel

OH dam 8/8 its on now ! whats your early pick for best yielder?:pop:

Heck yeah Doob!! :buds: Out of the Autos I'm gonna go ahead and guess the Moby. Out of the Photos, it's a toss up to me between the Blue Dream and Sage & Sour. I've had Blue Dream before and the nuggs are incredibly dense. But I am pretty sure S & S is a multi cola strain as well... I'm not that sure about SSH... I know the GSC will be the smallest yield LOL but one of the most potent so that always makes up for yield... so  good question!! But, we'll see my friend! :smokebuds:

So... the Wife bought us a Canon Rebel T3i! We are photog hobbyists and we wanted a bad ass camera... I'm trying to get it dialed in and ready for the SuperMoon on the 23rd. I've been messin with it all day. Took some shots of the babies so humor me :smoke: And check out the new brood...

Fine looking babies you have there Reb cant wait for this one that Blue Dream is an awesome strain and that Girl Scout Cookies sounds awful tasty bro.

New camera looks--. You read the manual.

Babys' stems, already, look beefy and strong.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From Coco Canna grow guide:

CANNA’s Coco is made up of thousands of capillary micro-sponges that retain almost 1000 % of their own weight in water. Therefore Coco retains an enormous buffer of water and nutrients. It is recommended that the grower keep the medium a bit dry rather than soaking wet. Wet circumstances form an ideal basis for fungal diseases like Pythium. A drier substrate passes more air through to the roots stimulating them to absorb water and nutrients more actively. This results in a faster growth and higher yields.

Another important instrument is timing. Once the Coco has become too wet, reduce or pause watering until the Coco has dried out and then start normal watering again. Check the moisture content of the Coco by hand or by determining its weight by lifting the pot or slab. A rule of thumb for watering fully-grown plants is 4 to 6 litres per m2 a day. By decreasing the dripping frequency and by increasing the amount of nutrients per watering, the best use is made of available water and nutrients. This will also improve drainage. The frequency of watering depends on the evaporation and the water supply in the Coco. A common rule is that one daily watering is sufficient during the first few weeks under normal circumstances; then increase up to 2 times a day; 2 hours after the lamps have been turned on and 2 hours before they are switched off again.

Please keep in mind, smaller root volumes per plant (small pots or many plants per slab) will make Coco dry out quickly. Therefore it is critical to water these plants more often.

Why thank ya Jay! Blue Dream is indeed an amazing strain. The most potent strain I think I've ever had...in all honesty! Girl Scout Cookies indeed does sound tasty and I can't wait to see if how she smokes!

Alan, you are too funny bro! I was reading the manual all day yesterday! LMAO! Oh before I forget man... I start Silica Blast at 14 days at the rate of 2.5ml per gallon. Then at 28 days I hit it with 5ml per gallon until flush. Thank you for dropping that info on CANNA in here!! I'm just started watering once a day the day before yesterday. Tomorrow is 7 days and they all will get a light feeding except the SSH since she was a bit tardy. I water around the seedling and then mist the rest of the topsoil down heavily. Basically exactly what I did with Promix. So we'll see. With all due respect to CANNA (as it's THEIR product) and all that but I go by my senses and what the plants are telling me. I'm sure when they are bigger they will need watered/fed daily but right now the seedlings are doing well just getting a good drink once a day. And this shit is real dense... like I said it was like Happy Frog was right out of the bag. Dense, heavy, and clean. So, I'll be shocked if this stuff dries up twice a day... promix bx is lighter. WAY lighter. Light Warrior is the lightest medium I've EVER seen, Promix being runner up and the CANNA is some heavy stuff. I like to keep my plants on the dry side as opposed to moist, hence the incorporation of Silica Blast to my grows. It helps keep them from yellowing up between feedings for sure.

I may try 2 gallon grow bags after this run... after I see results in the 1 gallons... I'll make a decision then... Thanks again my friend! This will be fun comparing notes on CANNA Coco between our two set ups! :buds: :smokebuds:
