Rdwc, ionic grow and cloning questions

it can take clones anywhere from 7-10 days to root sometimes a bit more high humidity and decent temps are the key to success also hardening them off over a few days so they dont wilt after coming out of the humidity dome
( just seen that its been rooting for nearly two weeks if it still looking healthy and not starting to wilt id leave it to do its thing or if possible try taking another cutting )
Checked on them this morning and they were wilted... So I guess I'll be doing a Hydro double grape run.

when u say cloning cubes do you mean the rockwool ones or the coco pellets also where did you have the cutting sitting what lights etc can you give me some more info on the setup or point me to your thread lets see if we can get it figured out

The time it takes for a clone to root depends on a few different variables.. In my yrs of cloning, 2 weeks minimum is the norm. But again, it depends on things like the health of the mother, when (what age) the cut was taken, from what part of the plant ect.. Then you have the environmental aspect, temps, humidity, etc. My go to method is to take cuts from the lower (oldest) part of the plant.. Cut the stem at a 45 degree angle. Dip it in hormone or rooting solution, then into a root riot or a wet rockwool cube. I place the cut/rockwool in a plastic dollar store shot glass, then into a zip lock baggie.. Place the baggie in the back of the tent and check it once a week for roots and to make sure the rockwool isn't drying out.

Some strains are stubborn and hard to clone. My clone only chem d cut takes about 21 days to root.. No matter what method I use. Its just a stubborn old strain. My breeders cut of grape pie roots in 10 days easy.. It's just a super vigorous plant.

Clones need as much humidity as possible. That's what makes them shoot off roots, and why I use a zip lock bag, lol.
Cloning takes some getting used to before you get it down, that should be expected. You'll have it down soon I'm sure!

I had them in a humidity dome in room away from light, I thought they were too wet and removed dome and forgot. So it was most likely my fault. But DG will be here soon. I'll try my cloning again in the future.

wow 21 days thats amazing iv only ever cloned stuff iv popped from seed recently never old moms or clones that have been around awhile do they stay healthy looking all that time or do they yellow a bit or anything ?

Yeah, a lot of the older elites take a while to root. How healthy they stay while rooting is up to how well you care for them, how big the clone is and the light intensity. You don't want clones under your full power grow lights (unless you know the clone can handle it). High intensity light causes the clone to photosynthesize (eat through it leaves since its not rooted yet).. That's what causes the leaves to yellow.. You want to keep them under regular indoor light or window sill lighting. Low light intensity will encourage rooting, and not photosynthesis. Some clones are stronger than others and can deal with the intense light.. But if you see the leaves start to turn yellow, reduce the light intensity or move it to bathroom sink or kitchen counter with regular lighting.

i had a gg4 auto turn photo on me last spring so i took a cutting and chopped the mom and the cutting rooted in a rockwool cube in 3 days..ive never seen anything like it..no special attention, i basically left the cutting for dead..was very surprised to see 1 inch roots poking out after 36 hrs :WTF:

Thats wild! That's literally the fastest time I've ever heard! Is she a beast in veg?

i had just finished an auto run, so it was an afterthought..but yeah it was a beast..the cutting was the same..she went from 10 inches to damn near filling my 4x4 by herself after 1 week veg then 12/12..lanky..thin stems.golf ball buds. 5-6 oz of 7.5/10 smoke...not bad
