I created a new structure for outdoor growing, and (long story short...) what my first season using it has indicated is that it traps moisture and subsequently some plants got bud rot. Most of the plants have been harvested, but I have one Dutch Passion Daiquiri Lime that has a couple of weeks left on it. So far it has shown no mold, but 14 weeks into this grow I'm thinking about finishing it in the garage under a COB grow light. If I do that, I would estimate the top will be done in two weeks, and in a staggered harvest I'll be able to lower the light and give the bottom another two weeks after that. That seems to me to be the safest way to ensure the plant finishes without issues like mold.

Questions:

Is there anything I should or shouldn't do, or things to look out for in terms of moving a plant from sunlight to artificial light?

At this point in time our days are about 14 hours long, and the plant is accustomed to about 6 hours of direct sunlight. Even though this is an auto and light changes "should" not affect it, how many hours of light would you transfer it to in an indoor?

I appreciate hearing about any other thoughts or experience you have with this kind of thing, I really want to save this Daiquiri Lime!

That is a pretty plant it would be a shame to lose it to mold. Yes your plan to move it indoors is sound but it is no guarantee to stop mold. Air flow and a dehumidifier are going to be your best friends. Be sure to keep the air temperature in the garage above the dew point day and night.

Thanks for the tips, I’ve got a dehumidifier in the garage if I need it, and I’ll keep an eye on the dew point.
