Indoor Question on seedling under cfl's? Please Help!

Well I'm planning my first grow in a micro box I made using 2 rubbermaid totes as my first grow. I am planning to start my seed and germinate it directly in a 3 gallon pot (finishing pot) under 6 cfl's which I have in the box. My question is how close does the seed/seedling have to be to the cfl's? or can it be further away from all the cfl's? Also how close does the plant as it is growing have to be to the cfl's? I'm planning to germ and grow all in the same box in its final pot. Thanks in advance!!

I want to know too. Also what color? I bought 5000k and added 2700k. Half and half. Is this wrong?

I'm in a learning mode but I am using 6- 26w 6500k bulbs.

Hi I'm a first time grower using 125w cfl in a stealth/micro grow and my plants have been no further than 3 inches from the lights and they seem to love it ...

CFL's can be pretty close,providing you have sufficient airflow over the globes.
i prefer fluoro for seedling tho,as do the seedlings it seems.
i generally use mixed blue and red spectrum in seedling and veg,it look s to aid in lateral growth

Stonemaster,try to stick closer to 6500k and 2700k,5000 has minimal usuable light as compared to 6500k.
Not saying it wont work,but isnt optimal
