So I'm planning on diving into dwc/bubbleponics after doing one succesful grow with a 5 gallon bubbleponics bucket.

I have been searching around but can't find a thread for answers.

I want to build a 5x site rubbermaid bubbleponics system for autos and I'm trying to figure out how big my res should be for a substantial yield.

I was thinking about rigging up a 30 gallon rubbermaid which would give about 5 gallons of water per plant and a 5 gallon airspace for the netpots. I would use 5" netpots and a 100 gallon aquarium pump. Also, a submersible water transfer pump to easily drain out the water on a weekly basis.

My issue here is, some growers have stated that more than 3 gallons of water per plant is overkill but some have said that a bigger res is more stable in terms of ppm and ph maintenance... But..the roots could use the extra space with the bigger res, right? And that means a less chance of roots getting crowded.

I'm hoping to get about 2-3 o's per plant using this method with autos.

Please share your :2cents:, I could really use help here. Hell, If I could do a 6 site dwc with that same yield performance, please share the method with me.

Thanks in advance. :smokebuds::peace:

Helpful links but they are different than the above method I had in mind. Still bookmarking for future reference, thanks. I wonder if I could fit and crowd 10 of those party cups in a 5x3x2' tent lol. With the above method I have, I'm hoping to get at least 10 zips off 5 plants. May have to just build it and experiment.

I think the real question is.. How many autos can I fit to finish in a 30 gallon bubbleponics res?
