Purple and Amber pistols 2-3 weeks into flower?

just a reminder - values may differ from meter to meter if not calibrated. Uncalibrated Photone app gives me way lower values than ppfdmeter on my device with my lamps. So if you are in doubt and use photone, perhaps you are pressing too hard if you already are near the top values you read from your device.
If you don't calibrate, theres still some guessing.

I dont calibrate and couldnt find ppfdmeter in ios store so guess that is an Android app. Photone is known for not working as well with Android afaik. Going to download Photone on another iphone now and compare the results. New 2nd one to test has a film screen over the front camera so might have an effect. I had to take mine off to be sure but this will do for a comparison.

@kfigerm Yep, tested with a 2nd iphone device and results were virtually identical. Going to assume the app is producing pretty reliable results. one iphone 12 and one iphone 11.

DLI jacked up and is now roughly between 30-35 for all plants.

This Mephisto Double Grape only couple days to go. Not many amber trichs yet so being patient. Look and smells pretty good for my 2nd grow ever. 1st time was years ago.

even autocobs??:yoinks:
Yes when I was running autocobs I intentionally tried to burn a plant. I did get a little bleaching on the very tip of the flower that was ~2 inches from the lamp. They will burn if you touch the cob.
Just so you know pistils will turn amber for a variety of reasons mostly being touched. Those are the reproductive organs of the plant so if they get damaged they turn brown

Oh yeah I forgot to answer that question. It is the natural progression of the pistil as it ages past viable to dry and change color. I doubt it is from touching them. You do not want to touch them though because your hands can carry bacteria and mold that may infect the plant (does not happen often but can). As to the purple and other colors this is mostly genetic.

Don't harvest too soon as this is often a beginners mistake. As much as 25% more weight can happen in the last weeks of ripening. Add some carbohydrates starting the last two weeks I use Bud Candy from Advanced Nutrients first (the only product of theirs I Use) and then molasses in the last week.

I doubt it is from touching them. -> they do also change from touching them. Even if your hands are clean, your skin carries moisture.
Moisture in contact with buds are a no go. I've had bud rot on a spot I know for sure I touched the day before.

-> also true.

They can also keep sprouting new white ones even if the 'first generation' has turned brown completely.
