So this DIY was requested by @Fuggzy awhile back after seeing my boxes in my journal/log.
I dont need another one so i will be using one i already made awhile back that should be my V3-4 but you should get the just of it.

Materials:
NEW 6 Cu. Ft. Cardboard box 5$
NEW Single speed 120mm PC Fan 5$
String 3$
Tape 3$
Imagination Priceless haha

Total cost under 20$ on the cheap end.

Start off with a 6 Cu. Ft. box from any moving supply store.

Then cutout an air intake anywhere at the bottom and cover it with screen, some filter material or just leave it open.
CAM00388.jpg

Now make holes near the top to pass some string through and zigzag/weave the string through.
CAM00392.jpg

Next knot off/tape one end and tighten up the string throughout the box to get some good tension but not too much that it tears the box and tape up the other end when complete.
CAM00389.jpg

CAM00390.jpg

Next trace out your fan on the closed top of the box and keep the corners for the fan to rest on to screw/tape later.
CAM00393.jpg

Now once your bud is hung with clothesline pins/paperclips/tape whatever like so.
CAM00372.jpg

Close up the box and mount your fan up at the top.

I wont cover how to power the fan since that information is widely available. This last part is optional but since i was drying in the same room as the grow i added some light diffusing tunnels at the top. For this one i used my carbon filter box but you can pretty much use anything.

(Edit: Also an option suggested by @Ozone69. Depending on how you power your fans, a light timer can be added before the PSU to control the fans on/off schedule. I havent used timers yet so i didnt even think about that! Right on buddy ;)

I am also going to add how i power up to 4 of my fans which is adaptable to using a timer and i personally think its quite easy and unique at the bottom of this page.)

And there you have it! A simple, cheap yet effective way to dry things up in any environment.
I personally went overkill with average RH of 30% and dried the first batch a little too fast (2-3days)
After I just turned the fan on low for a couple hours each day to slow things down to 5-6 days but im sure il need that moving air this summer with much higher RH.

If i missed anything or anyone has any questions just let me know and il be sure to change it/answer the question.

Grow on Folks,
CF

Nice work. I did something similar based of something found somewhere on the 'net with one of those wardrobe boxes I picked up from the local U move it truck rental place. Came with the aluminum bar to go across the top of the box for hanging clothes in while moving/storing, so I just use that and some string to hang things in the box.

Based of what I had read, I put a spare light timer on the fan for mine and run it for fifteen minutes every two hours. Seems to work well for me without drying things too fast, so have just always ran with that so far.

I'll tell you what guys there is a scholar and a gentleman in our presence. @CanuckFrog Just post his harvest of the first ever grow, and he smashed. Check out his journal for a damn near 2lbs harvest! Grats bud!

Okay so the supplies I have on hand are a large box.

Thanks for the suggestion bud! I like the idea, and it makes sense.:slap:

Thanks for the compliment buddy!

I was going to go with the wardrobe box with hangers and metal office clips at first but it was 12.97+Tax for one or 3.97+Tax for the 6 CU.FT. and the only difference i noticed was the height and i need quite a few so i opted for the cheaper route myself since the height was more than enough for me (3 for 1).

The timer is definitely a nice touch and i will add it into the optional part and it would work with how i power up to 4 fans too. Too bad i dont yet own a timer and have been going 24/7 haha.

Also a unresearched and mostly uninspired (besides the huge super expensive drying tent at the hydro store lol) design i came up with since i had everything besides the boxes salvaged from my main desktop that sadly broke down awhile back with a HD issue....and ive havent cared to fix it yet haha. Laptop is good enough since i dont game too much anymore.

Enough high rambling haha going to add the timer option.

:slap: Anyways!

Its the thought that counts! ;)

Alright so now for my PSU setup for up to 4 fans sofar.

Materials:

1x 9v 1Amp DC PSU
1x 3 Inch Solid Copper Wire from some Fluorescent lights (Any wire should do)
1x 4 Pin Molex PC Fan
CAM00397.jpg

First check if your PSU connector fits snug over the Molex Pins. If so its good.
Second wrap/coil the copper wire over the connector to bridge the gap to the next pin like so.
CAM00398.jpg

Now insert the connector over the red wire pin like so. Tape over it if you want (recommended).
CAM00399.jpg

Now the fan should run and if you have other Molex 4 Pin Fans like me you can add the inline like so.
CAM00400.jpg

Ive managed to safely power 2x 3 Speed and 2x 2 Speed Fans with this sofar but upping the speed controls a bit but would not recommend more than that unless using 12v 1Amp.

Thats all for tonight i think. Need some ZZZssss

Great stuff, thanks for posting.

I've tried drying in cardboard boxes and what I did was simply to make a small hole for an airline from a small aquarium airpump (5 l/m) on one side, and 3 exhaust holes spaced out on the other side. It was run on a timer for 15 minutes every 4 hours and I thought it worked great. Simple and easy to expand how many boxes can be serviced by the small airpump with t-pieces and increasing the run interval on the timer. Each box is good for some 6-700 g wet.
I have 2 ex-900w-LED cardboard boxes as permanent inventory, strategically reinforced with gorilla tape, and if the budgods smile on me, I'm sure I can rustle up a few more cardboard boxes.... Lol

It sure beat this for space required and control
