Hi there guys, i'm growing a single AF AK-48 from Sagamartha for my first grow. Keeping it simple and it's only at 8 days veg and coming along nicely. My problem is that the compost (yes I've been berated for using compost) i'm using has a 4month nute supply already set into it. The compost is West+ Light & Easy and seemed to fit the bill nicely with very effective drainage, a pH of 4-5 which buffers my UK tap water of about 8.5pH quite well. I'm not getting money into my hands for 3-9 days and i'm wondering if I should very quickly make the investment of some organic potting soil and make a transplant.
On the other hand my plant loves this compost, it has been growing fantastically and has no problems (yet?). I'm also a little on the wall about transplanting due to the stress it may cause the plant and the fact that I think the plant will quite quickly eat up a 4 month supply of nutes that are supposed to be for general growing and not the hefty appetite of mj.

Should I 'risk' it and keep it going in this compost and make an attempt to flush or just go straight ahead and transplant to potting soil asap?

If its growing good I would leave it,just watch your ph and don't overfeed her.If she looks like she needs nutes later just keep it light.

Will do, time for patience and less worrying eh? Just ordered a 300w dual spectrum CFL to replace my little 32w lamp i'm using for early veg as i've got some cash in hand now. Excited.

I might go with the switch of soils just because the nutrients. They shouldn't require feeding til later. Idk if the nutes or the transplant will stress it more. Is the seed feminizd?
Good luck!

Hello mate :smokebuds:

I agree with namvet25 if the plant is ok and healthy at 8 days I would stay as you are bud....you can tinker with nutes and or a flush if required later.

Good luck
