Hi guys I know the community doesn’t really like cheap products all Chinese this and that, I’m on a budget and found the perfect fit for my tent it’s a 4x4 and I feel like it’ll do more in the outcome but I wanted to see if there was anything better ive been using maxisun pb1000 and it showed me it does pretty good coverage for one plant optimal but I wanted the pb4000 since it was in a budget and it would fill the entire tent up without having to have a bunch of cords everywhere and buy two and waste more money when I’m actually trying to save and keep investing in better cheap but reliable for awhile parts and tools to grow cannabis, ive seen people grow autos with them and photos but if there’s a better company out there ive been doin research and the spider farms sf4000 is 5x5 it’s bigger then my initial space ..... Mars hydro I seen a lot of posts that the bulbs stop working and I need sum long term ive had the pb1000 for more then a couple months now and it’s been lovely for one or two ladies it’s cheaper too it looks like maxisun and sf have similar parts as well I’m hoping to get sum in a better save money good price range......... please and thank you, have a great day

First of all :welcome: to AFN
Second...There's nothing wrong with being on a budget! ;)
I use 3 DIY 50W Cobs myself. Costed me 4€ in parts and a bit of digging through the trashbin at work for some CPU fans that where thrown away.
That said, you're probably looking for a more 'finished' product. The people from Mars Hydro have a great presence here on AFN and are always willing to help you with advice (@Marshydro ). There should even be a discount code somewhere in their part of the forum... Maybe who knows:shrug:
I do hope you find what you are looking for.

Regards,

B

Welcome Kai634. I am using the Maxsisun MF1500. I have a small tent and this covers the entire area nicely. I also have the Mars Hydro 1000 still in the box as I purchased the Maxsisun before the tent. I see nothing wrong with it at all. The MF series is the newer version as they now include a nice reflector, thicker heat sink and a knob for adjusting the light output. They use the Samsung full spectrum leds’ including IR. I’ve been using mine for 6 months and no issues. Really nice light for the money. Go with what works for you and what you can afford. Nothing wrong keeping costs down.I read somewhere a little while back that Maxsisun is a product from a collaboration between Viparspectra and Mars Hydro.

If you are in to a bit of DIY, you can grow great weed with screw in led bulbs for something like half the price of the commercial alternatives. My results suggest to me that ~ 34 bulbs mounted on two or four frames would do a great job with a 4x4.

I used 30 bulbs in my 2x4 (a hair bigger actually) and it is significant overkill. With a few more bulbs distributed better for a 4x4, you would have no trouble keeping DLI in the excellent zone with autos on 20/4 lighting.

Good luck with it. :pighug:

One of these is a Ferrari... one is a Pontiac Fiero... betting there's more of a difference than just the price.

Looking at the add on Amazon, they state "Samsung diodes" and a "sosen driver"... never heard of them, and which Samsung diodes? Guessing it's not the LM301H...

I use Amazon for many things in my grow area, lighting is not one of them...

Something is wrong when the price is less than half the price of a true QB with the 301s and far red added.

OP: On a budget. Not everyone has a champagne budget. Get the best that “you” can afford. Who cares how much you paid for your lights. If it works that’s what matters. I could wear $200 jeans but I’m quite happy wearing $25 jeans. They last longer, they get the job done and nobody else cares. Oh, and if I rip them, they‘re cheap to replace. Expensive lights have leds’ that go bad too.

Buying a cheaper light is fine. Understanding why it's a cheaper light is also a good idea so you don't assume your getting a bargain on a much more expensive product. They intentionally put in some of the right wording (Samsung) but leave out the important parts, which diodes. The Fiero still goes from A to B and looks classy, the amazon light will still grow weed.

Thank you guys for feedback it’s just because I’m on a budget until further notice and I can start making improvements overtime and over the years as I keep growing autos and going into better flavors and growing it better it’s just beginner jitters.... haha but I appreciate you guys for commenting and getting back so quickly ima try out Mars hydro maybe the smaller ones and I have maxi sun I jus thought maybe there’s more better lights and the DIY is way more convenient even if it’s time consuming! Thanks for taking time throughout your day to help, god bless y’all during these times!

I'm somewhat on a budget too. As I'm growing on a small scale, i.e., for myself. I don't need to go all out on gear. No need to invest a ton of money for a small grow. I've already spent too much buying all of the extra stuff "I think" I will need but probably won't.
