Here’s my forum stomper (day 36) and in the last few days I’ve been noticing an increase in these orange spots on several leaves. I’m using ffof and I still haven’t added any nutes as this plant seems very sensitive to the hot soil. I’ve been dealing with N toxicity throughout the whole grow so far. I added cal mag a couple days ago but I’m not noticing any improvement. My water is ph’d at 6.5. I’m running under a spider farmer sf2000 with humidity always between 50-60%. I’m also running on a 20-4 light schedule.
I did try increasing the light intensity a few days ago, but I dimmed it back down as soon as I noticed any issues. I have a SODK planted on the same day in the same medium under the same light and it has given me zero issues. I’m thinking this is a calcium deficiency based on the research I’ve done, but since it’s my first grow I would really appreciate some expert opinion on how to go about fixing this? Thanks!

N toxicity can cause Ca lockout. Perhaps a good flush with plain ph’d water until run off is same ph as what you’re pouring in. Then a feed with ca/mg and no N perhaps?

Thank you! I did not know that N could cause a calcium lockout. I will try a good flush later!

It would also help to check the ppm of the run off. If you know the ppm of what you’re pouring in you’ll know when you check the ppm of the run off (when run off ppm is the same as that going in) that you’ve washed out all the salts/nutes

:smoking:... sad to say, but it's at least partly to blame that OF garbage soil for! it's a real gamble anymore using their soils,... #1 problem soil I see in here hands down... Worse, it's not a complete nutrition source much less properly balanced.
Main suspect for cause if off-pH, acidic most likely,... Symptoms looks like Ca or P defc., they can overlap in appearance and certainly happen at the same time too...
Testing the soil pH is critical to making the next right step... But I'm figuring you don't have a good quality pH probe on hand?
By now I'm guessing you flushed already, the next best step when in-pot pH is unknown,... use water only, preferably low ppm like RO, Di, bottled....
2-3x pot volume is recommended but start with 1pot volume and see where the pH is at,... nevermind ppm's unless it's been badly overfed, soil isn't coco and there should be a significant ppm from the run-off from soil a few to several hundred....

I really do regret choosing this medium. I’m using promix hp next time. You guessed right, I did not invest in a good quality ph probe but I have ordered one since making the post. I flushed already. My runoff ph was 7.2 and I flushed until I got a runoff of 6.5. It has grown significantly in the past few days. The deficiency hasn’t shown up anywhere else on the plant since flushing. The nitrogen issue is slowly getting better also. This grow has not been ideal but I’ve learned valuable lessons. Thanks for your help!

You and many others mate! FuxFarms is riding on a decade old rep' and still peep's don't catch on,.. just note the price point: cheaper than most other soils, for good reason!
Roots Organics is decent stuff; Royal Gold King's Mix is great, been happy with it myself

feeds are acidic, so that will help with pH adjusting in-pot,.. flush strips nutes out so feed ASAP to get balance back in there....
