Plants seem to be suffering by how much droop I'm seeing

@Waira I'm confused on the soil vs soiless thing. If the medium is coco and perlite that is soiless. And then it gets amended with composted manure, EWC and the organic 4-10-4 organic blend in what I loosely call TLO. The medium still soiless? Or is it soil now?

And PH should be lower for soiless right? That is what I assumed and why I kept my PH lower.

I'm working on mobilization now. A sprayed with nitrozyme yesterday. And I'm going to get some humic acid today and apply that too.

After I transplanted to larger pots and then sprayed with nitrozyme I put two of the girls under HPS with T5 sidelights last night. This morning 3 of the 4 of them look a lot better now. No drooping like before, and greener. But the one plant that had more yellow leaves yesterday looks worse today. It was one that was under HPS (600 watt cool tube with exhaust fan and 12-14 inches away) last night. It is even more yellow today and curling now.

What does this look like? Underwatering? I don't think it's heat or light burn but could be wrong.

Hey There! :D

I'm not waira (not even close) .. but while he's away i can help with a couple of those questions ^_^

If the medium is coco and perlite that is soiless.

Yeah, that's considered a soiless medium.

And PH should be lower for soiless right?

Yes, in coco i like to advise new growers to maintain a steady 5.8ph (although others do it differently). When your plant is big enough you can water (drain to waste) with 10-20% run off to keep the medium free of salt build ups (which can mess with your mojo)

Did you know coco also contains no nutes ... so you'll need to be feeding it something. An EC meter would really help if you don't have one, as at a seedling stage you could water at around 1.0ec without too much worry about burning.

EDIT: Sorry ... I forgot the TLO style ammendment parts when i was replying (stoned)

I'll leave the real diagnostics to waira .. but this little beauty looks underfed to me, and possibly a PH problem (which could affect nute uptake .. giving similar signs)

Droopyness ... not sure - but a 600w light 12 inches away from a seedling seems a bit much ... perhaps raise to 2 feet away? (or more ... i don't have real experince with high powered hps ..) Seems like a lotta light for a (currently) small plant! :D

:d5:

Hope this helps a little

@blue thanks for jumping in with some thoughts and ideas etc. The more the better. Everyone has different perspectives and experiences that might fix a newbies issue on any given day from what I can tell about this hobby.

This plant has the same feed as the other 3 so not sure how it could be that. And PH is pretty much the same for all 4 plants so why would 1 of them have a PH issue?

As for the light, I did the hand test and it was fine. But I did pull that one plant and put it back under T5 only for now. And the other plant that was under HPS too looks great, so not sure the light is the problem. And with the HPS lights on now, the tent temp inside is normal and pretty much perfect. I have 2x4" inline fans bringing in cool/fresh air and a big circulation fan in the tent. And I exhaust the light heat thru cool tubes and a high CFM 8" inline.

I sprayed a small dose of nitrozyme again this morning. And going out now to get some humic acid to apply today. These two should give better uptake for the nutes in the medium.

Just not sure what is wrong with that one plant.

Great learning experiences doing this first grow. It's actually good to have issues and then solve them with the help of others and see the plants respond quickly.

Well, TLO soil needs nothing added mate, it's fully loaded and fizzing with life that breaks down and cycles all nutes, and pretty much self-maintains it's pH,.. to make a legit batch is as much art as science,... this isn't one, not even loosely, no disrespect,... your blend is in something of a grey area between true soil and soilless... Promix is soilless too, peat based; basically it has mostly to do with the various components in a medium, soilless is very minimal 1 main component, maybe one or two neutral (perlite) or buffering (lime) ones and that's it,.... since coco is the primary, I'd keep your pH around 6.0-6.3,...
I'm with Blue here ... she looks starved still, eating those lower fans,..curled one is toast now,.. let it be and it'll drop off on it's own,...feed weak nutes, something grow oriented.... light was way too close, intensity was too high; seedlings want less strong light initially,...

Thanks @Waira

No offense taken. Hell I want to hear this feedback.

I intentionally kept my TLO mix super simple. Maybe too simple. KISS on purpose so that I can learn from mistakes or misses, and then I can adjust and change and watch the differences as I go along. And get some feedback like you gave and go from there. Speaking of which, I raised the HPS lights. And I'm trying to find a way to use local sources to add some more veg grow food via watering or top dressing. Good to know my TLO needs work for next time and I'll do what I can to salvage this run.

How do these look now? Better? Anything look obviously out of whack?

:greenthumb:better! How old are they?

3.5 weeks @Waira

Worried I wont get enough growth after recovery from earlier issues. And they will start to flower before I'd like. Asking about the timeline is what I was embarrassed to deal with and you cut to the chase asking that.

I switched to SIP watering yesterday and hoping I won't have to deal with under/over watering stress on my and the ladies.
Leaving lights on 24 hoping hat helps to stay in veg mode enough that I'll get some decent growth before the autos switch to flower.
Topped dressed in the last day with an EWC slurry. And then a high N blood meal slurry. And topped that off with a compost mulch. Got a bit of a top down and bottom up nutes and watering approach going now with focus on veg/growth. With the earlier nitrozyme and humic acid foliar sprays and last the 2 days of tuning the garden has paid off, and they will grow up to the SCROG.

Thank you for helping me work thru the early issues. Learned from it. This is from the morning. Looking better than a few days ago.

How does it look? Maybe I should give it a day and take another pic.

... yeah, they'll sex soon, if not already.. they'll be "fun sized" most likely! But they look much better mate, so good on ya for grinding it out- :slap:
