How much room do you need per plant when dealing with autoflowers I am looking at 4x4 and 5x5 tents. With that tent I am planning on using either a 1000w HPS or 900w Led setup. I know the plants should not reach the same size as a photosensitive plant which means I should be able to have more plants in the same tent is that true. Also what size containers are needed to have a auto plant grow successfully

3gal pots could run 8 in a4x4 and 5 gal pots run 6. I have 4 going with 6 starting around them in my 4x4 under a 1200w Mars led. 10 3gal pots and a fan with a large space. Will probably run out of room and have to hook up my 2x4 tent with my 200x3 Mars panel lol

So then with a photosensitive plant I know the longer the veg the larger the yield but the size of the pot needed also has to be increased. With that said the autos are automatically going to start their flowering process due to time and age of the plant. Would their be a significant advantage to the size of the plant and the yield compared to a 3 gallon and 5 gallon pot. And how do you like your led lights I have only used HPS lights in the past and that was in a room setup not a tent setup. I do have a comfort level with HPS lights but I am worried about the heat that would be generated from the HPS bulbs in that small of a space. I also find the idea of the added electric savings to be very attractive which would more than pay for the price difference between the HPS and the LEDs by the time I have my first crop ready for harvest. And that is not taking into account the added money that I might need to spend on upgrading the exhaust and the hood for the HPS to allow for proper heat extraction in the tent.

I'm still in my first led grow so im not sure on full comparison. Definitely less heat....shouldn't ba huge difference in yield between 3 and 5gal, I'm actually checking into that myself this grow. But 3 works perfect to stay until u get things dialed in and might need bigger plants. My first grow I got 100 grams dry plus from each plant under my 600w hps. A 1000w has and labeled 900w led could really ba huge difference. Choosing the right led is the hardest part honestly. I'd check out a few grows with different lights to see what catches your eye in the right price range

I've just finished a grow of two plants under the exact same conditions, in the same tent, one in a 3 gallon smartpot, the other one in a 5 gallon smartpot.
Of course, a lot of factors may play in, but they yielded 44 & 45 grs respectively so no difference.
I think maybe nute availability is better in a smaller pot? Anyway, if you have 900 or 1000 + watts (I only have around 250-300 max) you may benefit of a larger pot

It depends on the strain. I like to do tall thin gals and can do 14 comfortably in a 4x4 space in either 2.5 or 3 gallon containers. Yield is 1-2 pounds depending on the strain. Average is about 1.6 pounds.

These are a few I like to do this with...

Mephisto - white train, alien triangle
Fastbuds - crystal meth
Sweet Seeds - Dark Devil
Or you could do less of some big yielded who like Bubblegum variants like Mephisto HubbaBubbaSmell'o'Scope. Do six of them and get a pound of dry weed...

Practice makes perfect so get going man!

I am stoked to start this I have just ordered my beans hopefully enough for at least two grows as I do plan on dropping a few outside too but the variety that I ordered are:

(10) Heavyweight - 2 Fast 2 Vast
(3) Heavyweight - Fruit Punch Auto
(5) Dinafem - OG Kush Auto
(5) Pyramid - Auto White Widow
(3) GreenHouse - Super Lemon Haze Auto

I have also decided I am going to go with an HID setup since I am more familiar with that style light for right now, but with a dimmable ballast. I have decided to do this to avoid having to learn a new light and new plant type instead of having to learn both from scratch. I am putting the extra money the LEDs would have cost into ordering upgraded ventilation parts for my tent. I have also decided to go with an air cooled hood which I am also hoping will help control the heat in an enclosed tent.

What's up @KYZiggy ,to look at things from a little different perspective.either photos or autos can be trained( lst or other) to grow a flat even canopy which would be preferred to use the light( no matter kind or size) more efficiently, light effectiveness diminishes as it is moved up,this is partly what causes popcorn buds..you could grow four plants and fill a 5x5 area or how ever many fit, but, moving them in and out to care for them ,rotate pots/water,etc will be a pain.and air circulation is very important ( more veg growth/less air circulation/less light to lower buds with taller plants),these are just things to take into consideration.hope it helps...peace

Hey Buddy, I have my eye on a few of those seeds. Actually, everyone of them. Do you have any updates on time/yield/smoke?
