Grape walker kush day 83. Leaves are drying up and dying up top but trichomes aren’t ambering up. Was hoping for heavy amber to get the extra sleep effects. Is it ok to keep going or should I pull it?

In Happy Frog, FF nutes (500ppm), 20/4 lights, vpd generally in range, water always 6.25-6.5

Thanks.

Do any of those dead and dying leaves up top just fall off with the lightest touch?

I have had some fall, but the leaves in the pic are still pretty firmly attached.
That's good, with those fat buds I wondered if some bud rot could be happening.
The strain reviews for Grape Walker Kush says 70-80 days to harvest but they do not say at what stage they harvested. Was it when the the trichs got cloudy or was it when they had some amber?
There's going to be some variance in how plants grow depending on the environment.
If you want the amber stage, I suggest waiting another week or two. Keep watering.

I've read here a number of times that some autos just don't get amber trichomes. I also have some plants way past the point I would normally harvest trying to let them go until a large number are amber to get the effects you are after. I don't think I had more than 5% amber and the last I checked I still had some clear ones. My plants look much worse than yours with leaves dying off but I have been removing them to keep from getting budrot. My plants are outside with high humidity, hot daytime temperatures mid to high 80's and frequent low nighttime temperatures in the 50's.

I usually take a sample try to look under a scope and do a dry and test smoke.

I've got a number of strains put away in jars and frozen in vacuum packs. I found some in jars in the back of a cupboard I had forgot about curing for over a year and when they cure that long they seem to change to give more of a couch lock sleepy effect over time.
