Hey everyone somebody fairly new to autos here and I am planning on giving my girls a feed of Plagron Bat Guano (NPK: 3-15-4). I realise now it would have been better to add to my girls as seedling stage ready in the medium but I am now having first pistols starting to show I was thinking about making it into a tea/feed. I am growing with buzz all mix in 9L pots and have been giving nothing but water up to this point under 600w hps. They are ready to start stretching so they are tied down and ready to feed.

I was thinking about using just 1tsp of bat guano per 5L of water to start off with and see how they react, what do people think about that? Maybe even half that dosage? My main question here regards the mighty bloom enhancer by CX (NPK: 0-15-18). Is it worth even adding this too or am I risking shocking the plants with no much P? I thought It would provide more potassium and the phosphates in the enhancer are water soluble. So I figured this so would be accessible to the plant in its early flowering compared to the bat guano which is water insoluble phosphate pentoxide. However I have also added mycorrhizal fungi in but I am sceptical if the dried spores even work, going to inspect the roots afterwards and see I guess. I figured to give a 8th of the recommended dose to 0.125ml per L and see how they respond. I dont have the money due to the lock down for any other products so this is all I have.

Looking forward to the replies:)

You could top dress with the bat guano?

I have never top dressed, how many grams are we talking to add on top autoflowers? Do you think this combined with the bloom in the feed would be a good idea? I guess the slow release could be good, I just dont want to burn the ladies.

Well I just top dressed 2 weeks back, I use Plagron SuperMix, it has bat guano in it. Plants were on week 5, I was using recycled soil, just pulled out the main rootball, and planted direct, but week 5, it looked like they needed a little help, so I mixed up 50 grams of Supermix (per plant), with a little light mix, top dressed and watered it in. Plants are thriving again.

I have used guano both in teas and as a top dress. If top dressing, I go with 0.5 to 1 teaspoon per pot, sprinkling near the base of the plant, and then water as normal. I put two tablespoons with compost in a 5 gallon brew, and just water the soil with it. Never had a burn issue either way. Good luck!

Thanks, I think I may just keep it simple and try top dressing this time. Do you think adding it now just at the start of flowering is okay? I worry I have left it a bit too late for getting the phosphates solubilised in the soil for th start of the flowering cycle. It's why I thought maybe the tea would be a better option, which do you think would be best?

Both work well. With the tea, the Nutrients are more readily available to the plant, bit with top dressing, it may take a few days or week for it to breakdown. I don’t think it’s too late at all to topdress.

Thanks, I think I will top dress them, nice and simple. Do you ever need to top it up later on in the flowering cycle?

Well, I don’t know if I need to, but I do all the time. I grow organically indoors in small 3 gallon fabric pots, and find that a regular three week rotation of top dressing one week, just water the next week, and compost tea the third week, and so on works to keep the soil’s microbes active and happy in my little pots. I just water and try to not let it dry out in between. What size pots are you growing in? I find with larger pots, 15 gallons or more, you have less of a need to amend with top dressing and teas.

My pots are a similar size to yours, 11L pots about 2.4 gallons. Your 3 week rotation sounds like the way to go. My pots are kind of improvised aeropots (pots with lots of holes drilled in the sides) so there will be more runoff too. I think water next week and tea week after is the best option.
