Indoor Placing sensor for temp?

Hi People, I have a temp and RH meter with a cable and metal top. Can some one tell me where to place the meter also the metal top in my tent. And the meter is laid out on digital screen with OUT on top then under that IN with read outs. At the bottom is the RH reading, question is what does OUT and IN mean, please. Gratefully , Lorcanlive

Hello lorcan, do you have a picture or it or a link to the purchase page? It sounds like you have a control with your sensors but I can't be sure what exactly it does. The sensor positioning should be right under the top of your plant canopy. So, just under the upper set of leaves. That is where you want your reading to come from.

I'm just guessing here but I would say out is reading the sensor on the end of cable and in is the inside temp in being outside the tent.

I don't understand the bit about "IN is the inside temp in being outside the tent"

I think the unit you have is designed to be in your house with the sensor being outside hence the in and out

Hey lorcan, when you reply to a post give a like so someone knows you have answered it. It will help get an answer quicker.

Yeah, the meter itself has a temperature reading built in so the "IN" is reading the temperature from the unit and the "OUT" is reading the temperature from your remote sensor. So if your meter is outside the tent you will have that reading on the "IN" and if your probe is inside the tent, you will read it on the "OUT". Kind of confusing but "OUT" just means the remote sensor and "IN" means the temp where the actual meter is located.
