I have been growing autos for a long time now but I want to grow out some photoperiod mothers to clone off for the coming outdoor season.
I have 3 strains that I want to pick a mother from each. All regular sex photoperiod. Oregon huckleberry f2 ( a preservation from a friend..),, a F1 cross of (C99 x apollo11),, and DK Orange ( ((underdog og x bubba kush) x turbulent juice) from dark side genetics)
What I'm wondering is if it's possible or if it helps me know if a plant will be a earlier finisher if it pre flowers sooner or any tells..?
I know I'm going to clone off untested mothers and that is a guessing game on the end buds. All the strains I have are between 7-9 weeks flower, the c99 cross being the fastest possible but. I know that's not too much of a difference but last year the difference between the end of sept and the middle of Oct was insane.. tons of rain and snow and I know people who chopped early and all that..
I understand that if I look for more indica leaning phenos they are probably faster just because but are there any growth characteristics early in the plants life that can tell me if it's an earlier finisher
