PHOTONE BETA READINGS

you have to use a diffsuer - the iPhone version clearly warns you if you don't use a diffuser. Without one, the PPFD readings on mine are really low even under direct sunlight.
They didn't even have my cell phone on file for calibration. I have an iPhone 10x but apple is is screwed due to inactive email I no longer have. The results I got last time are at least near what Mars hydro and kingbrite posted so I think I'll be good with that. I'll try to check again with a diffuser at a later time. @_state_of_mind_ , is A4 paper tracing paper? Like thin tissue paper?

It tells me 44dli 15in away from center of a mars tsw2000 at 100% for 20hours on a Pixel 6. Don't know what that means but plants show no light stress. Also doesn't have my phone on file...

Search your model par map on their website and write the number down in the center at the distance you’ll be testing at. Go to calibrate and calibrate using par map. Type in the number from center of par map at 12”,18” or whatever you are testing at and make sure you choose the right button under the number. Par or ppfd I think and press calibrate. Then check if your numbers are different. No diffuser needed with android.

Tells me 87.5 after the "calibration". That's quite a difference from the 44 it gave me before. Still don't know what it means though. What's the ideal dli? I've always just hung the lights as high as possible on 100% and let them grow to it...

YES Diffuser is required. i use a iphone 11 pro max the app tells me to put diffuser on while in the any of the readings modes. i just use piece of printer paper.

Android version doesn't mention a word about a diffuser

google search about the app. the only reason i trust it a TINY bit is because i have iphone. it supposedly works well with iphones when calibrated and all that. but from what i've seen is it reads low. just going by what the plants are telling me more than anything. I just compare readings. i don"t have a much experience but i keep turning my light up and plants love it.

I don't really have any interest in it at my hobby level. Curious at best. If it's basing it's numbers off numbers I'm manually copying off a light manufactures website, I'm just not gonna think twice. There also isn't a paid version for Android... I'm just putting in my info so the people here who are into it have some more data
