Is there anyway to tell while growing a photo period plant vs a auto? I had 3 random seeds I found popped them in dirt and they came up a few days ago and they are booming I just don't know if they are photo period or auto flowers. Any tips or hints? Or do I have to wait and see?

If you found them in your weed, more than likely there photo's.Most auto's will shoe female pistols around three weeks old but a photo will just keep growing until it receives twelve hours of uninterupted dark period.

If you go past the 4th (true) node, regardless of time frame, you can also say it's a photo...

Where did you find the seeds mate?

I found them in a weed jar but I've had auto and photo green crack in there lol. I know the strain just not if its auto or photo.
So in weeks if it shows fem. pistols then it's a auto but if I keep it on 18-6 it won't sex? Makes sense idk how I didn't think of that. Good info

In a weed jar that's had green crack auto and photo ... By fourth node you mean "levels" right?

When the seeds pop, first you have the cotyledons, then a set of proper leaves as a pair, then they start growing properly & where each set of leaves are formed is called a node, it is also where lateral branching will form... ignore the cotyledons & first pair of leaves & then start counting :)

Okay so count the nodes, or just don't switch the the light cycle and see if it sexs on its own...if it doesn't sex at 18-6 then it's photo of it does sex it's auto

That's about it mate :)

Also alot of photo plants will show sex in about 45 to 50 days regardless of light cycle.
