Hello everyone. Quick question. Anyone know where to get quality ph testers for a good price? If so could you please send me link. I've been seeing them go for $80+ is this a normal price? I was looking to spend $40 or so

@ $40-60...

60 - Oakton, http://www.amazon.com/Oakton-35423-10-pH-Tester-EcoTestr/dp/B004G8PWAU/ref=pd_sbs_indust_4

55 - Hanna Champ, (better than the 42 dollar Amazon one - believe me..) http://www.greners.com/nutrients-additives/testers-ph-ppm/ph-meters/champ-ph-tester.html

43 - Hanna HI98107 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846

Now let's look at it this way, with all of them it';s recommended to get at least one solution, I recommend 7.0 calibration/storage solution - get the smallest bottle you can, +9.99.

So why not just cheap it up and get the Milwaukee? @18 dollars - http://www.amazon.com/PH-TESTER-600-AQ/dp/B000O3B52U/ref=pd_sbs_indust_1

Thanks goodie. So the $18 would be good enough? Someone is selling a used one for $40 on craigslist. Is a used ph tester worth it?

Neglected electrode storage can really beat a pH meter to shit, you can turn a $100 meter into a piece of shit in a matter of two weeks. The electrode is really the cost of the meter. I'd say the $18 one with the 10 dollar solution for storage calibration will easily last ~2 years. I usually calibrate once a month or if I think a reading is 'funky'. It's only been off twice (I have that tester). Just remember storage is very very important with pH meters.

Thank you sir! I'll go with the $18 one. Another question. Why are the other ones so expensive?

If they could get 40 or 60 or even 80, wouldn't you?

...Kal would

So they're all basically the same?
Hey goodie they won't ship calibration/storage solution to Canada any other links? Or would I be able to pick up from a hydro store or aquarium store?

Most hydro shops and aquarium stores should carry it, yes. Just make sure it's "calibration/storage" solution! I recommend the 7.0 because that's what the Milwaukee comes with (it comes with a little pouch of it)

I just got a 15 dollar one off eBay and some calibration solution. Been working like a champ. I use it every morning when I wake up to make sure all systems are firing as they should. I also got a 15-20 dollar TDS pen and calibration solution. Same thing, works like a champ.

Thanks Goodie. Hey Organic do you have the link? Do you know if they ship to Canada?
