Well my ph metter is one of those cheepes, home depot, didn't know it made a diff.,will trash it and get a good new one. Just for comparision I checked my well water again and it was 2,then checked distilled water and it also read 2. I live in the woods on a mtn. so it will take some time to get a new meter,in the meantime i'll try some hydrated lime,---Thanks all for the help.

That's what I expected. Those things are junk. You really need to be pHing your nutrient solution before you feed so I'd suggest you get one for use with liquids. Since you are also on well water, it would be a good idea to get one that also checks ppm. I wouldn't be surprised if the ppm of your well water is also low. I'd recommend a Hanna Combo or something similar. You can also use it to check your run off after you feed. A good one strictly for use in soil is the Control Wizard Accurate 8. I have both but you could get by with just the Hanna.
