My grandfather has been diagnosed with what the doctor calls "parkinsons like dementia", but not parkinsons. This gives me very little to go on in the medical literature. :dunno: Hes had this for several years, I only recently attended one of his doctor meetings. I tried to advocate for MMJ, but all he said was things about my state all about high thc according to some study that was done about 6 months ago, and schizophrenia. At the mention of higher cbd or cbd oils he said that sedation would not be a good idea. I realize this, and told him about things called hybrids, that use a combination to produce more equalized effects. All he said was "show me, ill take a look" and then ended the meeting. Ive had trouble finding anything for "parkinsons like dementia", but have hopefully gathered enough studies mentioning the neuroprotective effects of cannabinoids in cases of Parkinsons, Huntingtons, Alzheimers and other neurodegnerative disorders that will hopefully have enough crossover into this "parkinsons like dementia" diagnosis. I also found some stuff on schizophrenia. One of the problems is that the qualifying conditions in my state mention:
He also told me that he cant look at all these different strains, and I told him that's more the dispensary's job, but seeing as how hes already against it I might as well try and show him the other half of the bridge so to speak, that there are potential strains so he can have something more to work with. I wont discuss exactly what's needed here, ive looked at a couple of strains but that's it; unless people want that as well. Im just concerned about finalizing this portion of my "presentation" before I leap to the other half.
I will be contacting a dispensary or two, and hopefully a popular mmj doctor here shortly this week and try and get their two cents in the viability of this diagnosis as qualifying and proceeding.
So if anybody has any thoughts or advice or whatnot on this situation, id be more than welcome to hear it, figured id asked here as well.
